This essay will be over the wings of heroes by Richard Peck. It was based over a true story of an 8 year old kid named Davy. Davy’s Brother was a bombardier on a B17 flying fortress and had secret bombing missions that could not be explained. While Davy’s brother was on secret missions, Davy was learning bombing drills to Tuck and roll to the nearest safest location that no debris could reach you. It was a normal world back then but everything was under Government control. Davys brother hardly came home and the war was kind of scary but Davy had gotten used to the worrisome people that had lived in this town for more than 100 years... “They had brought a German Auchfouts Tiger Tank with an 88mm gun on it!” Davys Father said with excitement. The War felt like it as never going to end… Once they landed on Normandy they had thought they had lost the war but there were so many deaths on the American side but Davys brother had said that they were going to start their bombing runs on the North side of Berlin…

The Russians… had over one Million people going to berlin on trains… Stalin didn’t want anything to do with it at first but the Germans decided to try to invade Russia but they were pushed back by the Russians more advanced tanks.. “They had no chance!!” Davys brother said with a chuckle… Hitler would later try to invade Southern Europe and succeed But they United States would step in after pearl harbor was bombed. “Why do we even have to fight?” Davy said.
