Mass media plays a very important role in our daily life. Mass media divided into few types; print media, electronic media and new age media. Print media consist of newspaper, magazines, books, booklets and brochures. Electronic media consist of television and radio. New age media consist of mobile phone, computer and internet and more (Manohar, 2012). What is mass media? Mass Media means delivering messages or information to big amount of audience or people (Chegg, 2015). Before the information reach to the audience, there is no standard of need how large of audience before become “mass” communication. It can also affect youth’s thinking, attire, attitude and so on but before discussing about the influences on youth we need to know the three basic functions of mass media; providing information, education and entertainment (Mughal, 2014). Influences either can be positive or negative. We are exposed to the advertising that which has made billions of dollars to the media they sell. The things that we buy are told to buy by the media. We will make our own decision based on what we exposed on television, radio, newspaper, magazines or internet after seeing thousands of advertising (Mughal, 2014). Mass media will drag you into its world and make you believe that whatever you see, you hear and you do is the most trustable and is true. From here mass media works like a pull factor (Shafi, 2012). Mass media is indirectly controlled by government. Government will utilise mass media to spread the ideology.
