THE TRUE TREASURE Once upon a time, there was a village named Vijapur. Vijapur was a part of a Delhi of sub-continent, which was ruled by Mughals emperor named Babar. There in the village lived a poor lad called Santosh. Santosh was a clever man but did not like to work and whiled away his time by idling. He lived with his mother who was a teacher in the Village. Santosh had only one friend who was a 16-year-old boy named Gopal whose father was a farmer. One day, as usual, when Santosh was idling under a tree, his friend Gopal passed by and seemed upset due to which he did not notice Santosh. Looking at his one only friend who was too drowned in his own thoughts made him curious and, so he finally asked the reason behind his behavior. Gopal didn’t speak for a moment but then he finally said, “the moneylender took our bulls earlier and has demanded that either we give him his money back or plough the field and grow crops for him. If we are unable to do so he will seize our land. This blackmailing has caused tension in our house and as you know father is not feeling quite well these days he just cannot plough the field, so we are only left with the other option.” …show more content…

Then he bestirs himself to explain the source of the noise: The thing is that Ukrainian people were doughty trenchermen in the days of yore, and even doughtier drinkers, not to mention that they were doughtier merrymakers (Gogol 64).
Revenge isn’t always the answer but some seek it when wrong is done to them. Revenge is getting back at someone, some call it “payback” or “karma”. The Crucible uses many different forms of revenge from characters that have a connection to each other or even none at all. In this play revenge plays a big part and since revenge isn’t good idea, There’s a lot of consequences that will come along with it. In Arthur Miller’s play “The Crucible” he had many characters trying to get revenge on someone else in the play, such as Abby, Proctor, and Putnum.

In many ways, this essay serves as a useful lens through which to interpret Arthur Miller's play, The Crucible. The events depicted in the play are seen as a manifestation of the kind of mass hysteria and false accusations that Shermer describes.
In The Crucible written by Arthur Miller, one theme demonstrated was that revenge does not always work in your favor. Revenge is the action of causing hurt or harm on someone for an injury or wrong suffered at their hands. In The Crucible this theme is represented by the character Abby wanting to be with John Proctor, since they had an affair. Due to the affair Mrs. Proctor, Elizabeth, fires Abby making Abby want seek revenge on Elizabeth. In order to gain revenge, Abby accuses Elizabeth of witchcraft and being a witch.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of revenge is “to inflict injury in return for.” In To Kill a Mockingbird (TKAM) by Harper Lee, Scout, and Jem explore Civil Rights and racism in the segregated Maycomb, Alabama during the 1930s. Expressed through the eyes of 7-year-old, you learn about her father Atticus Finch, an attorney who desperately tries to prove the innocence of a black man falsely accused of rape; and about Boo Radley, a mysterious neighbor who saves Scout and Jem from being slaughtered by Bob Ewell. In the scene when Jem and Scout are attacked by Bob Ewell, Lee develops the theme, revenge brings consequences through external conflict, and symbolism. Seeking destructive revenge always creates a larger issue.
Revenge can help us feel better about ourselves, but you must remember it will eventually come back to you. In the book Long Way Down written by Jason Reynolds, Will is motivated to get revenge back on Shawn's murderer but he has to realize he will soon be the next victim. I believe that Shawn is the most important and has the biggest impact on will. In Will´s family, they have to follow a certain amount of rules that are not meant to be broken. ´´

When Cesar was just ten years old, he learned early on and never forgot about the lessons of the lack of fairness in society, justice, and trust, in his life due to the dishonest deal that his father made with the hypocrite and foxy Anglo neighbor. Cesar’s father had agreed to exchange eighty acres of his farmland to receive the endorsement of the forty acres land which was next to the family’s adobe home. After the Anglo neighbor broke the agreement, he sold the land to another person whose name was Justus Jackson. Cesar’s father went to a lawyer to ask for help. The lawyer advised him to make a mortgage loan to buy the land back.
Andre Dubus, short stories contain a common theme of revenge, morality, and justice. In “Killings” published in 1979, Andre displays the theme of revenge and justice through the development of characters, the title of the story, and the thrill of the suspense. Dubus neglects to take sides with the characters in the “Killings”, which leaves it upon the readers to make assumption whether the killings were justifiable. Dubus has a very unique style of writing, the main characters in “Killings” were given a choice that could’ve led them to a completely different outcome. Dubus keeps the readers on their toes because the opposite usually ends up happening.
In the play The Crucible, character such as Abigail and Thomas Putnam seek revenge from others, so much so that it becomes and recurring theme throughout the play. The theme of revenge can best be shown through the characters Abigail Williams, Thomas Putnam, and Giles Corey. Abigail Williams, one of the main characters in the play, becomes one to the biggest contenders for the theme of revenge. It is revealed in the beginning of the play that Abigail has committed adultery with John Proctor. This becomes the root of the revenge because Abigail now thinks that “there is promise in such sweat.”
Vengeance has been an ongoing problem for many centuries. In the long run, with the new generation, they have been following the same pattern to get revenge, without knowing the reasons why. If no one is willing to stop and think it over, to evaluate if it’s worth the risk, then the act of vengeance will be ongoing at the cost of many lives. Many people do not realize that having to avenge the death of a loved one will take so much time and patience in their lives. In the short story, “An Act of Vengeance,” by Isabel Allende, the issue involves a young girl who gets raped by Tadeo Cespedes, whom also killed her father on the same day.
