Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome back to CTV News at 9:00 PM. I am Lisa LaFlamme. Tonight we are looking at the trial that is causing interest all over the country. The trial for the murder of Candy Kane. Mine Mean is the accused and he is presumed to be the killer of Kane. From the current evidence, it looks to be a very heinous crime. The body is not found which leads us to believe that the killer, may he be Mike Mean, has hidden or disposed of the body after the murder. It is very likely that it was a murder as there was a very large amount of blood found at the crime scene, her apartment. After Mean had killed Kane, he had a guilty mind and that is why he changed his clothes and attempted to clean up the apartment. The testimony of Al Beers states that Mean had a change of clean clothes when he entered the apartment later. The proves that Mean had known that he had done something wrong and instead of calling the authorities, he had changed his clothes and gone to the Red Barn. Also, Mean had attempted to clean the floor with towels that Kane had wrapped around her body and hair after she had come out of the shower. There were streaked blood stains on the floor of the apartment and that proves that Mean had attempted to wipe away the stains. This was heard in Ben Stern’s testimony as there was blood streaking the floor. Also, in Nellie Newsbaum’s testimony, it was said that Nellie had seen two bloodied towels in the wash. This proves that after Mean had attempted to clean the room, he had tried to get rid of the evidence by washing the clothes. After Mike had changed his clothes and attempted to wash the bloody towels, he had left for the Red Barn to try to cool down and to establish an alibi. Al Beer’s testimony stated that Mean had entered the bar and he asked around for a couple that was sitting there earlier. Mean had arrived at around 10:30 and had been acting nervous the entire time. Although this is not very uncommon, this proves that Mean had a guilty mind after what he did and he was nervous as to what would happen to him next. After leaving the bar, Mike Mean had to dispose of the body. He arrived back at the apartment building. According the Bert Glance’s testimony he saw Mike Mean’s camper back in the parking lot at around 11PM.
