I will also discuss the most successful theory and defend my argument by explaining how the theory. The desire satisfaction theory accommodates the thought which hedonism does not accommodate. According to the desire satisfaction theory, our lives go better when the world actually is a certain way, and doesn’t merely appear to be a certain way. An individual experiences pleasure when the desires are satisfied but it is not a guarantee that the desires cause pleasure.

The most “sought after” emotion in life is happiness, and yet it is the most difficult for scientists to explain. Happiness is often interpreted to be positive, but there are numerous downsides to this cheerful emotion. Due to the expectations that often accompany it, one’s happiness tends to cause feelings of betrayal and depression. Researchers conclude that those who are constantly happy, or strive to be, are the same people that often dread attending family events. Morrie says that If people throw themselves into these emotions they get to experience them and they know when to detach and itś much easier to detach from those feelings. Itś much easier because they already experienced them and they know what they are going through. ¨Don 't cling onto things because everything isn 't permanent. (Albom 103)¨ I agree with Morrie every emotion people go through doesn´t last and we have to learn how to detach so we can live our lives happy and how we want to.
