How English is used in Thai language English is not directly used in Thai language but it has undergone a various processes. Mainly, Thai language borrows words from English using three different ways. The first way is translation. This is a borrowing which Thai language has no vocabulary before such as tea spoon (ช้อนชา) and short story (เรื่องสั้น) The second way is creation. Idea of English words influence creation of Thai words. This type of borrowing happens in academic world mainly such as television (โทรทัศน์) and globalization (โลกาภิวัฒน์). The last way is transliteration method. This is to use Thai words exactly the same as English words by transferring sounds and scripts.

In the past, Thai language has final consonant sounds matched the sound pronounced such as /n/ for /น/ in the word ‘นอน’ (sleep). However, the mixture of languages changes this feature. For instance, /s/ for /ด/ is used in the word ‘เทนนิส’ (tennis). Finally, the mixture changes the way people use the language. This is to say, Thai people seem to use English and Thai in the same context. For example, ‘ฉันไม่มายด์นะ’ (I don’t mind).
Characteristics of the Thai language relate to various aspects such as phonology and grammar. Thai is a tonal language comprising of consonants, vowels, and tones. Thai alphabet is syllabic with forty-four consonants and twenty-one sounds. The consonants can be divided into three classes: middle such as /อ/ (/o/), high such as /ส/ (/s/), and low such as /ท/ (/t/). Thai consonants are important because they are used to determine the tone of a syllable. Thai language also has eighteen vowels which are divided into monophthongs such as /-ิ/ (/i/), diphthongs such as /–าว/ (/a:w/) and triphthongs such as /เ–ียว/ (/iaw/). Thai vowels can appear in front of, above, below, or after consonants they modify. Pairs of vowels are long and short which are different phonemes such as /-ุ/ (/u/) and /-ู/

Because these people are affected by this language in an unpleasant way. One such author, May Lee wrote, “Hmongspeak” to educate the Hmong society. Lee defines it and says: “Hmongspeak is universal”.

Writers tend to elaborate more when they know their audiences. When they do not, they use more factual information and formal words and methods to get their points across. This is more the case when trying to reach those in their profession, and not the case with their families, and friends. Using blended English will make writing easier to read, comprehend, and reach a broader audience.

They are Indonesian, Malanesian, Autronesian, and Polynesian. Malay or Bahasa Melayu is a national language in Malaysia and it is used as a language instruction in education, in formal or informal settings or events.
