I have been given numerous opportunities to prove myself, both in the classroom and out, and I believe I have done so. I made a positive impact on a younger peer, and I am proud of that. In my mind, that is one of my biggest accomplishments. I have maintained good grades, and challenged myself. I have learned how to balance myself.
College Essay Topic C Throughout high school, I have been involved in many different organizations that have made a huge impact in my life. Out of all of them, I can say that two of those have not only impacted my life but have made me a better student and an all-around hardworking person. Both swimming and band has taught me that no matter what you do in life, as long as you believe and work hard, you will get through anything that life throws at you. Joining my high school’s marching band is probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Over the past six years, I have become very passionate about music to where I have made it my biggest goal to become a high school band director.
The summer of my junior year I had a severe injury which made me led me but no choice to let go of my other sports and my after school music activities. It was a burden on my shoulders because I loved doing all the activities but in the end, it was all about getting better grades, improving my playing skills and most importantly for me to get healthy again. I worked through the difficult times so I could be there for my team. Teamwork was possibly the most valuable lesson I learned from Lacrosse. Learning to work together with other individuals to achieve a common goal is a skill that I have used and will continue to use, for the rest of my life.
Therefore, people who have passion and perseverance and those who have taught and learned, achieve their long-term goal. I still agree with Duckworth idea about having and testing out grit to become better in life. On a personal experience, I was always struggling through high school. My goal was to be able to walk across the stage with my friends and graduate. So no matter what, I overcame every obstacle that was holding me back from my goal and I was able to graduate with my
This experience taught me that even when something gets tough, I can overcome it. Cheerleading is one of, if not the best memory I have from high school. Ms. Traska made all of us not only think about cheerleading but also made us think about each other. I don't think that I would be as close to my cheerleading girls as I am without her as a coach. She kept as organized and helped make us all have our own responsibilities on the team.
An archetype is a pattern of behavior that can help us understand ourselves and others. To have a greater understanding of myself, I recognized the person archetype of a student within myself and the archetype of a journey throughout my four years in high school. These archetypes helped me throughout high school and helped me gain knowledge that I can apply throughout my life. My first archetype is one that many people experience within their life, a student. Everyone in their life has learned something either by learning from others or from themselves (Archetypes, Intellectual archetypes).
Think about a huge accomplishment; getting a good grade on a test, winning a competition, getting acknowledged by a coach, teacher or parents. Now think about what steps it took to attain the main goal? I’m assuming it was earned and rewarded by hard work, not easily given. I have accomplished many things in my lifetime so far. Some accomplishments were immense and some were small, but I had to take steps and put in effort in order to reach my fullest potential.
I feel as though I have changed a lot throughout my high school career so far. I have made new friends, drifted away from others, modified the career path I want to go on, and most importantly I have become closer to myself and have started to do things I feel are best for me. So much has changed in just half of my career at this school and I am very excited to see where the next two years take me. I can’t even imagine where else I will go in life but I will try my best to make it great. I have many amazing people in my life that push me to do what they know I can and want me to do what makes me happy.
While some aren’t as good as others, I’m certainly proud of them. I’ve kept straight A’s for almost all 3 years and I’ve gotten the Superstar award twice. This achievement has made me really proud of myself. While I needed to work hard for that award, I also worked hard for other things. For example, I was able to continue on into high school math in middle school or in other words onto Geometry.
Even, some consider cheerleading as just a “hobby,”but competitive cheer has helped me grow as an individual. I learned dedication, time management, sacrifices. I spent countless hours in the gym working on skills to be the best. If there is any lesson that cheerleading teaches you, it is how to be the best as a team and individually. You have to be determined and dedicated to be successful.
Especially within Little Falls High School the tools that faculty, and even other students ensure provide an environment to which anyone can thrive. Throughout my years I have achieved multiple academic awards and accolades. To get to to a point in my education where I was able to receive such great awards took serious dedication not only on my part but all the teachers as well. Learning new material in various topics does not come easy to me. I started off certain classes like geometry or spanish with no clue what I was doing and even a few bad grades in the beginning.
With having, to compete mentally, but also interact personally with my teammates and other teams everyday helped mold me into who I am today. This year as a leader in robotics and on the TSA chapter leadership team has given me qualities of project planning and group mentorship that I couldn’t have received somewhere else. I participated in all these extracurricular and to take AP and Pre-AP classes all four years. Receiving 3’s and high on all of my AP exams and managing a 3.0 and higher
