The video “Power and the World’s Women” by BBC was published in TVO on June 17, 2015, discusses that women’s rights were increasing after Hillary Clinton had a speech about women’s rights in 1995; however, governments still need focus on this issue in 21st century. After Clinton had a speech of women’s rights in 1995, women’s rights was increasing around the world. Although, some rape and sex industry was happened every day, and women do not have enough power to fight with those phenomena. At the same times, some industries did not have many seats for women, such as leads, scientists, and engineers. According to the video, women have more power in politics in the last 20 years. As Clinton said that the speech, which published in 1995, pushed change of women’s world. Women have more rights to fight with unfair phenomena, like husbands’ control, prejudice education, and discrimination of work. Most women have enough power to face to those problems, but in some developing countries, like India, Afghanistan, and Rwanda, women cannot have rights to fight with unfair phenomena. As research, the number of rape was increasing in India According to the video, more than 8 millions women are working in the sex industry. Some of them are coerced by men. Women should have enough rights of their own thinking. However, violence in some country is not illegal. Thus, government should have laws of women’s rights. For example, criminals who coerce women and have violence behavior should be punished. On the other, sex industry is a type of work. Women have basic rights to choose what kind of work they would like to do. Clinton believes that people do many things about women’s rights, but we still need doing more useful things. Sometimes, people cannot find good ways to solve issue of women’s rights. For example, in China, more and more women do not have sufficient rights. This issue cannot be solved easily, because of society and history. Some Chinese people think that women should stay at home and care their babies after marriage.
