Throughout the series, the survivors face many hostile survivors, lack of food and supplies, and the constant threat of walkers. The group must navigate through a harsh and brutal world, where death is always certain around every corner. The series also explores the relationships between the characters. The Walking Dead features a large cast of characters, many of whom become fan favorites or have a love/hate relationship with the series. Characters like Rick Grimes, the show's main character, became everyone's favorites due to his great leadership in the apocalypse. Despite his flaws, the group looks up to him because of his combat prowess and concern for all the members, which has given him the authority to the position of leader. Another character, like Negan Smith, had a love/hate relationship with fans due to the way he was first introduced as well as his charismatic nature. Negan, the violent and leader of a group known as the Saviors, serves as the show's primary antagonist for many seasons. He is well-known for using a baseball bat covered in barbed wire that he nicknamed Lucille, and for having a dark sense of humor.
