World War 1 started in 1914 and went through 4 years and ended in the year 1918. The war started out with an assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Austria then declared war on Serbia and Serbia had Russia as its allies. Russia threatened Austria then Austria told Germany the problem and Germany declared war on Russia and its ally which was France. Germany went into Belgium and then Britain entered the war on the Russian side.
Many factors played into the start of World War I like nationalism, the arms race, the lack of balance of power, Sebians assassinating the Archduke of Austria-Hungary, and alliances, but there is one big cause you can argue that started the war. Tension between and within countries caused leaders of the countries and groups to spark rebellions of the groups, and one thing after another a World War was on their hands. Germany's tensions between France and Russia started alliances. Serbia had sparked the first rebellion by trying to gain independence from the mother country Austria. Europe was thought to be in a strong position, but at the end of 1918 the position was reduced.
The countries that were involved in world war 1 were Serbia, Russia, France, Britain, Italy and the USA. The side that won the war was Great Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union formed a Grand Alliance that was the key to victory. Germany did not know they lost the war because German territory was rarely occupied in the war while Germany conquered a vast Empire in the east and subdued Romania and Serbia in the South. The war that the Versailles treaty officially put an end to was the First World War. The US president claimed that reductions to trade barriers, fair adjustment of colonies, and respect for national self-determination would reduce economic and nationalist sentiments that lead to war.

From the start of World War I in 1914 there were two different sides ,the Allied powers (which consisted of France Russia and Great Britain) ,and the Central Powers (Austria Hungary and Germany). The war began due to the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand the heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. This assassination was the straw that broke the camels back ,as tensions were already high due to militarism imperialism nationalism and the gaining of allies. At the beginning of World War I United States had a policy of neutrality ,President Woodrow Wilson said (in the message to the Senate) "every man who really loves America will speak and act in the true spirit of neutrality". The United States was afraid of getting involved in World
War broke out in 1914 due to forces that had been building up in Europe for years. While the Allies blamed Germany for the war too harshly, its actions certainly did directly contribute to World War I, as did those of Austria Hungary. However, each country involved fostered militarism in their country, and became in entrenched in the web of alliances and race for imperial power, all causes of the environment that led to the Great War. Therefore, it could be said that all European countries were responsible, in part, for World War I, as reflected in Documents 5, 6, and 7.
World War I, the Great War, took place from June 28, 1914 until November 11, 1918. The Great War began after several countries declared war on each other. There were four fronts: Eastern front, Western front, Atlantic front, and Middle Eastern front. All the actions that took place in each front all led to the armistice being signed on the eleventh of November. World War I started as mainly a European conflict seeing as most allies originated from countries in Europe and Europe had most of the power, but in the end it expanded to beyond Europe as outside countries were brought into the conflict for multiple reasons.
The Great War often referred to as World War I was a worldwide battle that lasted from 1914 to 1918. Imperialism was the motivating factor that sparked wars between nations. The Central Powers (mainly Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey) and the Allies engaged in combat (primarily consisting of France, Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Serbia, the United States, and Japan). Up until 1917, when it formally declared war on Germany, the United States remained neutral in the fight. However, the United States military and financial support of the Allies' war effort changed the course of the conflict and ultimately resulted in the Central Powers' defeat.
World War 1 was an atrocious war that caused millions of deaths and hundreds of billions of dollars in reparations. World War 1 lasted from 1914 to 1919 and rudimentarily, was the fight between the Allied powers and the Central powers. The Allied powers consisted of France, Great Britain, Russia, and Belgium while the Central powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. All countries had some participation and damage done throughout World War 1, and the countries who started the war may be obscure. However, there are some countries that can especially be picked out for their contribution and cause for the war.
The war involved more than thirty countries. Fifty million people died and millions were injured. When the Germans lost World War I they lost many lands and so the Germans wanted to seize some lands and so they invaded many countries including Poland, Austria and much more. That’s when the war began. When the Germans invaded Poland, France and Britain declared war on Germany because of their pact with Poland.

grow in both military and economic status. World War 1 began in 1914 in Sarajevo, Bosnia which was ruled by Europe. The background behind the war involved five major things. It involved imperialism and competition, disputes in Europe, many countries having military alliances, jingoism, and different ideologies about government and economic structure. Austria-Hungary sent its military to Serbia and in result led to Russia declaring war of Austria-Hungary.
WW1 is known as the first modern war because it saw the incorporation of mechanical weapons. The Central Powers and Allies both used a variety of weapons such as machine guns, chemical weapons , clothing, biplanes, artillery, tanks, grenades, and rifles. These weapons were state of the art for the early 20th century. These weapons caused casualties to skyrocket as the Allies and the Central Powers were in a stalemate.
Because of alliances, Russia came to aid Serbia and that led Germany to declare war on Russia. Eventually the other countries with alliances joined
