The Water Cycle (Hydrological or Hydrologic System)
Define age group and describe how you would teach the lesson
In the spring of my junior year I began to think about what I was wanting to do with my future. I quickly decided that I wanted to become a teacher, and began to think of any classes I could take that could help prepare me for that decision. I decided to take an Early Childhood Education Class at the Century Career Center in Logansport. While in that class I worked with preschool aged children and planned lessons for them to complete while at preschool. Since working with them I have decided I would like to be an elementary school teacher, and work with younger kids. So for my lesson I would teach lower elementary students, preferably

Although the water cycle may be a difficult concept for the students to learn, I would use worksheets, a demonstration, and group work to help the students better understand the concept of the water cycle. By working with preschoolers I have learned that young children learn better with visual aids. It would be hard for them to understand the process of the Water Cycle if they had no visual aid to help demonstrate the process. So in order for the students to better understand the Water Cycle I would prepare a demonstration of the water cycle as well as use posters to help the students understand the different steps of the water …show more content…
I would put the students into groups of two or three. In order to complete the worksheets the students would have to cut out pictures and glue them into the correct spot in the cycle. The pictures would include a pond (collection), and sun (evaporation), a cloud (condensation), and rain (precipitation). By allowing the students to work in groups, they will be able to ask each other questions regarding the water cycle. While in groups the students will be able to discuss the different stages and help each other decide which picture belongs with each stage. Working with a partner or in groups would allow the students to better understand the water
1 What type of documentation did you see and inspire you? To my perspective, all those projects have been a trip toward the unconscious mind of the child and has released his/her deep emotional and visual experience. Also, the project has been a bridge between the self-unconscious (intangible) and language of self-expression (touchable) as “Artifacts”. To me as an educator with major study field in graphic and Fabric design, the outcome of the documentation has been a pure art which was occurred based on the unconscious of the child and affected his/her behavior and emotions. For the art, the timing of skill and the skill itself must be primarily unconscious responses.
*Have the children sit in a circle & place A4 sized photos of different breeds of puppies. Ask the children to point out the differences between each puppy, for example eye colour, fur colour, size, short or long fur etc. Ask questions of regardless of each difference would they love the puppy any less, would they be less interesting if the puppy was white or brown, just to generate a discussion. This can then lead into talking about our peers that have different coloured eyes, hair, skin & explain we are all the same but we just have differences or perhaps different beliefs etc *
Ever since I was young, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. When I would stay the night with my aunt’s or at my grandmother’s house for the summer, I would always create math worksheets and roll calls for my cousins to fill out because they were my students. When I was in middle and high school, I began helping with the children’s church, always finding an interest in teaching new material to children and watching as their faces glowed when they finally understood something that was new to them. From my experience of being in the afterschool classroom of Apple Tree Prep, I have learned a lot of lasting advice to help better me as a future elementary school educator. Whether it is to deal with the loss of a pet to having to help prepare
Fuller and Strath (2001) conducted a quantitative research study that examined local populations of early education organizations based on the 1990 household census data to report features of the early childhood workforce nationwide. Multiple economic and regulatory forces shaped the population of early education organizations that operated within states and local communities. The median center-based teacher was 34 years of age, reported having completed some college, and was married. The median family childcare home provider had a high school diploma. Fifteen percent of all preschool teachers in urban areas were African American and 8% were Latina.
The lesson that is shown in the video clip is lesson plan number one. The first lesson is where the students will have the opportunity to focus on the theme and what to expect in the up coming days. There were some changes done in the video related to the lesson. The first one is not no students were in the video. The teacher will provide a demonstration on what she will do with the students.
After completing my junior research paper last school year I began thinking about what I would want to focus on for my senior project. I had written my paper on becoming an elementary school teacher, so I knew for my project I wanted to do something that gave me the opportunity to give back to my community. With the desires of some day becoming an elementary teacher, I decided to base my project around early education. After being informed about The Discovery Corner in Phoenix Oregon by my former English teacher, I applied and soon met my mentor Lynn DeHaven. The Discovery Corner is a daycare/ preschool which serves for children starting at 10 months all the way to 6 years old.
Here yall promote a collaborative environment so that the students may work together to
Early Childhood Education: Theoretical Perspectives Abstract Studies confirm that high-quality education early in a child’s life leads to continued success in school, at work, and results in a healthier well-rounded student who is emotionally and socially strong. In most early childhood programs and schools, technology will be part of the learning background of the future. To make sure this new technology is used effectively, we must confirm that teachers are fully trained and supported. In this paper, theoretical perspectives of child development are discussed with the basic elements of learning program.
While in the first grade classroom, I was able to form a great relationship with my mentor teacher that allowed me to be very hands on with the students throughout the semester. Among many things, I learned how to run an educational circle and calendar time, worked with small groups of students to improve reading, provided practice spelling tests to students, assisted students in developing their writing abilities, and implemented the class’s behavior management plan. While I worked with the fifth grade

The classroom that I will be observing is a Preschool classroom at KinderCare Learning Center in Bartlett, Illinois. The teacher I will be observing over the next period of time is Laura Sturgulewski. She has worked at KinderCare for 8 years, mostly in the 2 year-old room until fall of 2013, when she took the lead teaching position of the Preschool classroom. Her classroom mainly has 3 year-olds, but on occasion has a mix of 4 year-olds and transitioning 2 year-olds. The number of students in her class depends on the day, because they are a child care center some students have a part time schedule, unlike an elementary school where children attend every day.
Being a pre-service training educator, specific goals and objectives should be set to achieve educator’s own educational philosophy. The Educational philosophy is an individual statement of educators’ guiding principles about the education-related issues, which helps to guide when drawing up curricula and structuring classroom discussions for children. Every educator should have their unique set of principles and ideas to affect students’ performance. I strongly believe that early childhood education is to help children to achieve whole person development which including cognitive, physical, mental and social aspects. Children’s programs should be based on children’s needs and interests as they are going to grow, develop and mature in educators’
I want to teach so that I can create an inclusive classroom environment that is perfect for learning. My goal is to get students excited to learn. I will accommodate to all of my students according to their individual needs. I aspire to be a teacher who respects their students and gets respect back.
INTRODUCTION Water is a transparent and nearly colorless chemical substance that is the main constituent of Earth 's streams, lakes, and oceans, and the fluids of most living organisms.
