E. Selection of Work-piece Parameter:
Stainless steels are engineering materials with good corrosion-resistance, strength and fabrication characteristics. They can readily meet a wide range of design criteria, including load, service life and low maintenance.
Selecting the proper stainless steel grades involves four qualities in the following order of importance:
a. Corrosion or heat resistance
b. Mechanical properties
c. Fabrication operation
d. Cost
Type 304L is an extra low-carbon variation

A-TIG welding was increased penetration joint and decreased angular distortion. It was characteristic of high degree of energy concentration during welding and reduced the quality of supplied heat. It was prevented to overheat of the base metal and reduced the incidence of thermal strains and incompatible strain was caused by shrinkage in thickness.
VI. CONCLUSION
TIG welding with mixture of SiO2 and TiO2 fluxes achieves increase in weld depth and decreasein weld width as well as angular distortion.
The results indicate that TIG welds produced without flux the surface appearances clean andsmooth but with flux formed residual slag, spatters and small amount of fume is reported.Hardnessvalueoftheweldzonechangewiththedistancefromweldcentre dueto changeof microstructure.
The G-PCA method is supplemented by the ANOVA which is revealed that current, speed andflux are controllable factors significantly the multiple quality characteristics withdesirecontribution of 47.81%, 13.09% and 20.61% respectively.
The optimal combination of the process parameters was obtained from the proposedmethod was set with values of current, speed and flux 140 A, 100 mm/min and mixture of SiO2and TiO2 flux respectively. The corresponding responses are penetration depth, weldwidth and distortion of 3.64mm, 3.76mm, and 0.76
Introduction: This memo presents information regarding essential manufacturing indicators for the four countries in which we are considering locating a new plant. Those four countries, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Thailand, and South Africa, are all being measured for their literacy rate, level of government corruption, wage rates, and quality of infrastructure, in that order. I will display data on each category, explain where it is coming from, and what it means. I will also provide my own opinion on how each indicator should be weighted. We will also be having meetings later in October to discuss these options, so the memo will end by briefly providing information on those meetings.
In Ray Bradbury’s short story, “The Veldt”, the author’s main message is technology is not always a good thing, especially when technology is in the wrong hands. Technology can actually ruin somebody’s way of life. Also, technology today seems to be overpowering to today’s human lives by being the main focus point in life. In the story, “The Veldt” George and Lydia are the parents of two children, Peter and Wendy.
Welding plays an enormous role in today's advancing economy. A trade is an occupation that takes great skill and is down with one's hands the most common trades are carpentry, electricians, plumbing, auto mechanics and welding. All this trades are intertwined by one another but one of the most important career listed is welding. Without the ability to weld, cars wouldn’t be driving down the road, there would be no bridges, or even carrier ships carrying cargo to other areas of the world. Welding ensures the safety for everybody that it is involved in.
Welding is a really good career path to do because you can meet all kinds new people and you can travel all over the world but the but the traveling welders jobs typically get payed the most and there is no shortage of openings and welders who travel for a living and they are known as road worriers if you want to and it has really good insurance and good benefits and welding is so fun and cool .In welding you will learn how to weld with sick and the mig in overhead, vertical ,flat and horizontal and you learn how to single pass tee in all positions and open but and close but in all positions and laps in all positions and you will learn how to cut with the torch and you will learn how to yous the plasma cuter and the ark gowger. And the median hourly wage start out making $21.00 to $23.00 per hour but you will get a
In the Veldt by Ray Bradbury, the parents (George and Lydia) are at purpose of their death because they didn't limit their kids (Peter and Wendy) technology usage throughout the day. This caused their kids to get mad at their parents and eventually kill them. Firstly, I think the parent’s are at fault of their death because they let their technology to take care of their kid’s and not letting them have a limited amount of time on their technology. On the website BBC it’s proven that kids spend about six to eight hours a day on technology.
While searching for a career pathway on mynextmove.org, I took a test to see suggestions to do with my life. The results of this test were very surprising to me, in my findings the computer generator suggested that a career option that would best fit me would be a job as an airplane pilot. I highly disagree with the suggestion considering I can’t walk in a straight line, let alone learn to operate an airplane. I believe I should stick with my original decision to be a welder, because I’ve enjoyed in the past two years and think it would be a promising career for myself. Even though being an airplane pilot would be interesting job, welding would be the better option for me.
Damage Controlmen have been stripped of there welding Certifications. Baring the men and woman of the Damage controlmen rate from using their welding abilities on ships and small boats is not only a disservice to the Coast Guard but also its members. Since Damage Controlmen are not allowed to weld on vessels they are not able to preform their job in a satisfactory manner, this practice it is not cost efficient and it is resulting in more casualties. Damage Controlmen (DC’s) have been stripped of their welding Certifications they acquired from the Coast Guard because of a few preventable mishaps, due to the lack of following procedures that were already in place and working. Upon completing DC A-School the 3rd Class DC’s are taught the basics
Welding is a great job but not many people know what welding is or how it work. According to Thomas net welding is the process of joining metal together with heat welders can work on many kind of structures such as mobile homes, pipes, steel reinforcement and others. Because welding is a relatively easy manufacturing process and provide a great deal of strength (Thomas). To become a welder you need four skills the first skill you need is problem solving because welder must be exceptional problem solver who pay attention to details. They have to spot flaws in materials and designs troubleshoot broken areas and know to fix parts or equipment. The second skill math and science welders constantly use their knowledge of fundamental science and math
The career of welding all started with people trying to find out ways to join two pieces together. The career began because people needed ways to join two pieces known as welding. Welding goes way back to the Bronze age by Egyptians and people of the eastern Mediterranean (“The History of Welding”). The career of welding has changed quite significantly since the Bronze age. In the 1920s they began making electric welding machines.
Never judge a book by it’s cover, but that's all people do these days is judge, judge, judge. Some may say welding is a dangerous, unpredictable, a harmful thing to participate in. Some might even ponder on the word “Weld” and think if they know what it is. But only if you've done it then you will never know what it feels like (or what it is), the rush of adrenalin and the art it can create. People who weld learn to be themselves, they become more alert and welding can help with further career choices.
I’m currently taking a welding class in High School and I have already achieved a couple of certs. This year i’m entering the TSA competition hoping to win district and maybe even be a state champion. The reasons why I would like to attend Tulsa Welding School is to further my education on welding and it’s also a small sized school located close to home. Tulsa Welding School is only specific for welding and pipefitting and doesn’t have other courses, so you can focus only on what you are really there for.
Safety is the number one consideration when it comes to jobs like welding. Welding can be very hazardous to a welder if he or she is not wearing the proper safety gear or taking the proper safety procedures. When welding a number of things could go wrong from explosions and gases and fumes to electrical shocks, burns and more. This paper will describe welding hazards and procedures that can be taken to avoid them. One of the main safety hazards of welding is fumes and gases.
My overall favorite type of welding is “stick welding”. This type of welding has been around for more than 100 years. Stick welding, which is also known as shielded metal arc welding, is a type of welding that uses a stick electrode. This type of welding doesn’t cost much to operate and has minimal equipment. Stick electrodes come in many different sizes.
There are a lot of things in this world that would make the world a better place. And I feel that being a welder and working in sports medicine are two of them. I know that those two fields of work would affect the world around me. I would maybe one day work for the NFL and help all the players get better. Me helping the players will make the world better because everyone loves football.
The organization I chose to observe, and interview three people at is called Shorty’s Lunch, my family’s business. It is a small restaurant located in Washington, PA that has been around for over eighty years. The people I chose to observe, and interview were; Steve the owner, Leslie the head waitress, and John the general manager. Steve the owner of the restaurant has worked there since he was around sixteen years old.
