Have you read these stories before? If so you might not have realized how alike they are. All three texts contain more similarities than they contain differences. All the texts are very similar and all contain characters who are in a group that relies on each other. All the texts are very similar in themes because they all follow the same theme “Major conflicts turn to disaster”.All the texts are very similar about conflicts because they all get into a fight physically or mentally with wolves or with another character in the story. At this point,The characters in the stories are very similar. In the first text it shows how the wolves are a pack and they are in their situation together. One example of this would be ,“At first, our pack was …show more content…
In this story the theme is “You can't hate on someone for who they are” In the text it states,” In the morning,Mirabella was gone…I didn't want to face Mirabella. Instead, I packed a tin lunch pail for her”(Russell 85). This shows that even after their conflict they still care for Mirabella and help her.In the second story Ulrich and Georg get trapped together under a tree. They already hate each other because of the land. They start to make up but they don't make it to the end. The theme in this story is “No matter how much you reconcile you might not make it to the end” In the text it states,” Who are they? Asked Georg quickly, straining his eyes to see what the other would gladly not have seen wolves” (Saki 204). This shows that after they reconcile they don’t make it to the end because wolves come and eat them. Finally, In the last story the theme is “The people who are closer to you can be your biggest enemies”. The husband turns on the wife. In the text it proves this,” I saw him, I had to see him, my own dear love, turned into the hateful one”(Guin 225). In the story it states,” The two enemies stood glaring at one another for a long silent moment. Each had a rifle in his hand, each had hate in his heart and murder uppermost in his mind”(Saki 200). This proves the hate and conflict between Georg and Ulrich. Lastly in the “Wife Story” the husband starts to transform from a wolf to a human and starts to threaten to start attacking his home. In the story it states,”But it picked up a heavy fallen tree-branch in its long white foot and shoved the end of that down into our house”(Guin 225). This shows the conflict and fight between the wife and the husband. As a result,This proves that in all three of the stories that they all share similarities when it comes to conflicts. They each contain a physical or mental battle between
One similarity is the situation these two narrators are put through.
Although some stories are written by completely different authors, countless stories can and have shared similar themes and ideals. One example of two stories that share similar concepts is the example of the stories: Sticks and Salt and Growing up Hmong in Laos and America. In the story, Sticks and Salt, Phuoc Nguyen talks about his life growing up as a Vietnamese refugee in America. On the other hand, in the story, Growing up Hmong in Laos and America, Pa Xiong Gonzalo talks about his life growing up as a Hmong refugee and his life growing up in America. Even though some stories may share similarities, there will always be differences in the stories and in the writing of the stories.
Obviously, the stories are more alike than different because their themes are
Another similarity is the main conflicts. Both main characters are outnumbered when it comes down to trying to stay alive. One out of many differences in the stories is the themes. One protagonist has to fight for just himself and the other has a whole town to fight for. Even though High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are very different stories, there are several similarities between our two protagonists and in the conflict; there are also many differences between all of the themes.
This can cause many stories' themes to contrast with different stories, only because their conflicts contrasted to others in the first place. All of these elements apply to the stories The Most Dangerous Game and Highnoon- two drastic stories with many similarities within all elements of each. In order to find these types of similarities and differences between other stories besides these two, you just have to read between the lines, and the story's answers will lie right under your
One common theme that exists between both stories is that the simple idea of rebellion does not
Clearly the white represents the good and the wolves’ whiteness on the outside shines to the inside, highlighting the wolves’ pure intentions by not acting with any malicity, only trying to reclaim the humanity that was theirs. Oppositely, the black resembles the evil attributes tied to the humans, such as “arrogance” and
Thought these stories are somewhat similar, their differences greatly outweigh them, causing the feelings of the viewer to be completely different. The development of the character’s perspective, the provisions received from God, and the theme of family ties beating the despair in times of trouble are all but a few of the differences that separate these two
Many stories you read are similar in many ways if you just look. However they are difference in the way they act as different situation effect different things. In the story High Noon it’s about a marshal that stayed to fight the Antagonist, Frank miller, he is scared and desperate for people to help him fight. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” it’s about a world class hunter that is stuck on a island and must fight against a hunter than thinks hunting humans is right, and he must survive for 3 days from this very skilled hunter. The stories High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are different in many ways, one is the similarities between the protagonist, there is also many different between the setting and conflict.
Another item that is extremely important in both stories is the use and importance of fate. Both characters rely on their fates for assistance and for achieving
Over the year, we have read four different stories that each has had unique stories and messages that go along with them and enhance the stories. The four books that we have read are Ender’s Game, The Odyssey, Night, and Romeo and Juliet. Two of the stories that we read were the books Ender’s Game and Romeo and Juliet. Both of the stories have different plots, they have similar themes, and their main characters have some similarities between them.
Although both of these stories have many literary elements in the story, the three that are the most important are setting, irony, characterization.
Throughout our everyday life we compare everything; we see how all kinds of things are similar and different, whether it's with cats and dogs, or wolves and people. A huge part of when we compare and contrast is when we are reading. The stories, “St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves”, “The Interlopers”, and “The Wife’s Story” all have similarities with each other but also they have many differences that make the stories come down to a lesson you will learn. The three stories of , “St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves”, “The Interlopers”, and “The Wife’s Story” are more different than they are alike. In particular, the characters from the 3 stories are similar because each character did not get along with one or more characters.
Instead of the conflict of the story being between a husband and wife, the conflict is between a mother and a daughter. In the beginning of the story, we can see the obvious conflict between the two. The mother is what one might consider to be strict or abusive or maybe even just tough love. Many times, throughout the story, the mother is said to have hit or choked her daughter. Because of this, the daughter has turned into a disobedient girl and will do anything to go against the wishes of her mother.
For example, there are antagonists in both of the stories. But there are many more similarities than that. Similarities In the story “Three Billy Goats Gruff” there are two different countries telling the story. One is Norway, and the other country is Poland/Germany.
