There have been many hard times in the world's history, some harder than others, like the Holocaust. In the book, “ Night,” by Elie Wiesel, the Jewish people went through rough times, sometimes without a break. This book is about Wiesel's experience during the Holocaust, from living in the ghettos, to almost going to the crematorium in Auschwitz (concentration camp). The struggle to maintain faith, was one of the biggest problems the Jews experienced, like when they worried about their future, families started giving up hope, and the prisoners had lost faith in themselves. This book gives a realization to how beneficial it is to maintain faith, through all times.
At the start of the book/Holocaust the Jews lives were good, but when they were forced to move to the ghettos, many realized what was starting to happen. A lot of Jews tried to force themselves to believe things were okay, even though there were many signs of the bad times coming. Unlike others, Mrs. Wiesel started to worry, “ this afternoon I saw new faces in the ghetto. Two German officer . . . since we’ve been here, we have not seen a single officer . . .” (13). She knew something was changing when she noticed something unusual, like the German officers. She stated “ I have a bad feeling,” (13). Mrs. Wiesel was able to …show more content…

Near the end of the book some of the prisoners could not go on any longer in the freezing weather, like Akiba Drumer. “ He could no longer fight, he had no more strength, no more faith,” (76). Wiesel realize how weak Akiba Drumer was, he had no more faith to keep living. One prisoner, Shlomo, Elie's Wiesel's dad was so tired of barley surviving, he almost gave up to death itself. “ I beg of you, I’m so tired . . . no more strength . . .” (105).
