In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, love takes a huge turn and causes a tragedy. The story of Romeo and Juliet is sadly connected into the topic that has taken over our society. This topic that I am discussing is suicide. When you think of “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” you don 't think automatically, suicide. When thinking of the story, you think of young adults with a family feud.
Juliet is so in love with Romeo that when he finds her mistakenly dead he takes a deadly potion that kills him almost instantly. Following this Juliet is so depressed and sad about this event that she takes his dagger and stabs herself with it, to join her husband in Heaven. My essay is arguing the fact that Romeo and Juliet have feelings of true love towards each other. The feelings that Romeo and Juliet had for each other were true feelings of true love
Pointing fingers to assign someone the blame often happens when reading. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is no exception. The story is of two star-crossed lovers who fall deeply in love then tragically die by their own hands. The blame could be given to the most probable characters. However, many small decisions made by numerous people caused Romeo and Juliet to end tragically.
The characters of Shakespeare's thrilling play Macbeth strongly resembles the characters of the story of Ahab found in 1 and 2 Kings. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are similar to Ahab and Jezebel primarily by both men's evil ambitions. In both stories the wives greatly influenced their husbands to do whatever it took to achieve what their selfish hearts wanted, in both stories this would be to commit murder for personal gain. Both stories resulted with consequences for their actions, which for most of these characters was death. In both stories we are introduced to Macbeth and Ahab who originally are portrayed as very noble men.
Romeo and Juliet Essay Throughout the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, the story focuses on love, passion, violence, loyalties, overpowering forces that supersede all other values, and emotions. Romeo and Juliet is considered the most famous love story in English literature. The young star-crossed lovers are driven to defy their parents for the sake of their love. The main theme of Romeo and Juliet is that the hatred between two families can rob people of what they hold dearest. Shakespeare portrays the forcefulness of love in the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet through Juliet's rebellion against her parents, Romeo and Juliet secretly marrying after soon meeting, and the plan that Romeo and Juliet hatch that leads to their deaths.
Both her and Romeo were blinded to everything except each other and did not think before doing, for example, Juliet should have ensured that Romeo found out her plan, before she did it. She loved Romeo so much that she was unable to live without him and decided to take her own life it was her own foolish choice and actions that lead to her and Romeo's death. Though the death of Romeo and Juliet was a tragic love story of two star-crossed lovers, caused by their families and friends, more specifically Friar Lawrence, Lady Capulet, and Juliet herself since their actions lead to Romeo and Juliet’s death. However, Romeo and Juliet’s death also brought to the end of the feud between the Montagues and Capulet. They were young and thought that if they could not be together in life, death would unite
The story Romeo and Juliet can be considered one of the most known tragic love stories known to humanity. The story prior to the two young lovers committing suicide has been examined and debated all over the globe in the effort to discover the driving factors that led to the suicides. People argue about what they believe caused the young teens to take their own lives. Many people believe that the tragedy was caused by a family feud, although I think not. My opinion is that the ages of the characters, particularly Romeo caused this immense tragedy.
The author uses Othello’s death to show all of the events that have led to this dramatic disaster. Shakespeare also uses Othello’s death to portray the theme of the power of vengeance. The idea that Desdemona would betray him hurt him deeply, but once Othello realizes he has killed her in vain he cannot live with the pain. After Othello’s death Cassio reminds bystanders that Othello is “full of heart” meaning he embodies love and kindness (V.ii. 776).
Romeo and Juliet purposely tie the themes of love and death together; specifically, how family and friends react to the star-crossed lover 's impulsive decisions and how foreshadowing the inevitable tragedy of their death-marked love proves how strong Romeo and Juliet 's bond is. Throughout the play we see Benvolio, Mercutio and Romeo showing signs of love through their words and actions for each other. Benvolio makes multiple attempts to help Romeo out of his sadness by socializing with him. This is portrayed to overcome Romeo’s hasty love, Rosaline. The significance of this event is clear because
Romeo was sad over Juliet’s “death” so much because they had married and Romeo believed that Juliet was his one and only true love. Romeo then kills himself because he wanted to be with Juliet in heaven. In Act 5, scene 3, Juliet says, “Rust inside my body and let me die.” This proves that they kill themselves because the other one was dead because Juliet wakes up and sees that Romeo had killed himself because he found Juliet “dead”. Juliet then says it was a bit rude of him not to leave any poison for her. Then, she finds his blade and then kills herself.
