A significant amount of being a hero involves physically fighting. One could say since Achilleus is fighting and presenting a hope of victory for the Argives then he is portrayed as more heroic. However, hero’s are praised for their selflessness in battle and their good hearts, not acting on anger and revenge. Patroklos sets a good example of a hero, with such empathy for his countrymen he says, “… such grief has fallen upon the Achaians. For all those who were before the bravest in battle are lying up among the ships with arrow or spear wounds” (XVI 22), and then pleading with Achilleus to let him go into battle.
Yes, Autrey was more both mentally and physically courageous, but Odysseus showed multiple acts of physical courage and started to accomplish a task that they knew was going to be difficult. Autrey thinks that “maybe I was in the right place at the right time, and good things happen for good people” (Lee 2), which may also be the case for Odysseus. In the end, both Autrey and Odysseus were courageous in their own ways, but both took a risk they knew was going to be hard. They proved through their acts that they were courageous, and are still being talked about and rewarded
However, a true leader does not shed blood, a true leader has the intention to save lives. Maddie and Julie unveil a soft side to themselves as they fight in the war. Julie starts listing her fears and she states “killing someone” on accident or purpose is a fear of hers and questions herself on whether she actually saved the German pilot or killed him (78). The common misconception of a ruthless leader plagues the minds of many people. Wein shows that a true leader is conscious about the world around them and cares for others regardless of what side they represent.
In the third story he brings up death, and how it kept him motivated to do what he loves. In the fourth, and final, story he concludes his speech with a quote that convinces his audience that there are many different ways to go about life. His advice is to find your passion and to live your life doing what you love. Although some of Jobs's audience may disagree with his speech, he is right , because many people will live life regardless of what life throws their way. Nobody wants to die, yet when we choose to live, are we truly living our lives to the fullest?

He encourages his men to be men of strength because of the great danger and although they must wake up early it will make them healthy. King Henry is optimistic and persuades his men to do the same. The commitment he makes shows that he has true patience and is willing to do anything for his men. Odysseus used his patient as he fought other monsters and gods too. Forgiving someone is one of the best things you could do. However, for you to forgive someone, you must accept what has happened and be ready to move on. Forgiving someone gives them an opportunity to redeem themselves, and allows them to move on as well. By accepting the past, you might find reasoning within the mistakes of the others, and give you as better understanding of how you should act. Forgiveness is a large part of The First Stone, and within the story is a valuable lesson: By forgiving someone, you are allow both yourself and the other person to move on and grow, as well as allowing you to look back in an unbiased way.
More fearsome it is now than when the cyclops penned us in his cave? What power he had! Did I not keep my nerve, and use my wits to find a way out for us? Now I say by hook or crook this peril too shall be something that we remember.¨ (Odysseus lines 767-773) Odysseus said this because he want his men to gain the bravery that he has gained from his journey through all his trails that he now want his men to see that they have gained the same. But, in a journey you don't need to learn how to fight, but how to survive and endure plenty of pain not physically but, mentally. As Wrothgar realizes this, he says to Beowulf, “Now take your place at the table, relish the triumph of heroes to your heart’s content.” (Lines 489-490) Beowulf’s perspective on Grendel’s ferociousness broadens after Wrothgar speaks to him, and this begins the initiation archetype.
