In spite of the United States claiming to be a postracial nation, racial prejudice and division pervade the country. Racial discrimination is primarily prevalent in the American judicial system. Jury bias frustrates the attempt to prosecute police officers, particularly in cases that involve a white officer and a black victim (White 302). The study shows that the blacks have a negative attitude towards the police compared to the whites.

The police jumped into action and treated this case with urgency. The type of injustice that this conflict displayed was distributive injustice. Distributive injustice “is concerned with the criteria that lead you to feel you received a fair outcome” (Deutsch, 2007, p. 44). I believe in most cases involving black people the news make the police out to be bad guys. The most recent cases with the killing of African American males will make you think that the police don’t care about Blacks.

When we say that Black Lives matter, it doesn’t mean that black people lives are more important than other people’s lives. Black lives matter just as much as other lives, but black lives are more in danger when it comes to police interaction. During this year and previous years, there has been numerous incidents of police assaulting or killing black men, women, and even teenagers. Some people say that “All Lives Matter”, which is true because life is a precious thing. But when it comes to interacting with police officers, “Black Lives Matter”, black lives are in danger during interaction with the police because society treats black people different from other races.

In my research paper my topic is about the brutality of police tactics, and how they plan on improving these to make their attempts at arresting less forceful. “Are we becoming a police state?” This question is asked by many Americans today, Why? Because there are so many deaths by police that many feel like they are superior to laws, and often times the criminal offences they cause are overlooked. The fact that it’s only few cops that do this, they all get the bad reputation.

When Montag realizes there's no one left that he can talk to about real issues, no one who understands him, he starts acting impulsively: disabling the door, going to see Faber, and even reading to Millie's friends. Ultimately, those actions lead to his downfall but also to his enlightenment. Meeting Faber was a pivotal point for Montag, allowing him to finally understand the importance of books. When he first read the books, Montag knew there was something special in them, but he had no idea how to interpret it. However, with Faber's help, he finally understood that the books showed the truth about life; he understood why he had to save the books, even if it meant following someone else's orders which he had been doing throughout his life.
