In The Outsiders, by S.E. Hilton, we go to a time where gangs remain dominant and run the streets. S.E. Hinton tells us about two enemy gangs. The Socs, one of the many provocative gang groups, kids who live lavish lives and get away with the crimes they commit because they look clean cut and look like good innocent kids on the outside. Then there 's the Greasers, who live poorly and get blamed for most of the things that go down in the city. Ponyboy, and Johnny, two Greasers, that at first, clang to the fact that they hated Socs. All they wanted to do was fight the other gang to look tough and earn respect.

The theme of The Outsiders is that money shouldn 't separate people. The three following quotes prove that my theme is the supreme ruler of all the themes. However before we get into the main theme of the book let 's give a breaf overview of the book, okay the main character is a 14 year old greaser named Ponyboy he lives with his to brothers Soda and Darry, Darry works two full time jobs and soda dropped out of school to work at a gas station to help support his family. Also it important to know that their parents died when Pony was younger and Darry was left to take care of Soda and Pony. The Outsiders is a book that describes 2 gangs , the luxurious Socs, and the hoodlum Greasers. While they have conflicts with each other, the protaganist, Ponyboy, finds his identity outside of the gang. The important message of the story is that everyone has a unique personality that are developed by being in a group of people away from home, this identity can shape anyone’s way of life and the path they may take in the future.

Love - an intense feeling of deep affection. Love is an emotion shown in many romantic or family relationships as well as friendships. Love is shown frequently throughout the entirety of the book The Outsiders. For example, Dally is an extremely aggressive and audacious person, but he also shows immense love towards Johnny. Sodapop is a fun-loving, carefree high-school dropout, but he is understanding and shows love to both of his brothers by seeing both sides of an argument. When analyzing the two novels, one can compare and contrast the social inequalities racism, classism, and bullying. These inequities enhance the reader’s understanding of how society is separated.

After a while of gruesome writing I had finished my essay, The Outsiders. I had Soda and Darry read it and they both thoroughly enjoyed it. Soda said that it captured the essence of each moment perfectly and Darry said that it made him relive the experience. (Even though that might not be the best thing) It 's been almost 2 weeks since the death of Johnny and Dally. We had their funeral down by the church at Windrixville because I knew Johnny would have liked that. The day was quite sorrow and I didn’t eat much, but, as time went on I was feeling better. I started to accept that I couldn’t see Johnny and Dally everyday and they were in a better place now. Two- Bit and Steve came by a lot more often now to give us some company and something to do. I was going back to school the next morning after missing nearly a week of school. “Goodnight.” Darry said as he turned off the lights. We started to be nicer to eachother and get along better since our argument, and I hope it stays this way.

This is especially seen in the classic book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton and Black Boy by Richard Wright, both stories contain themes or a central idea that really plays a role into the story. A theme is a usually seen as a unifying or a dominant central idea. These themes can be shown in significant events or many other things such as a main character choosing the right decision. Both authors, Hinton and Wright ,both have a common theme and have similar ways to help develop the theme “Sometimes life events cause a person to lose his/her innocence.”

Heros. Who are they? They are not the ones that are fighting the imaginary villains. Heros are the ones who save others emotionally and physically and do whatever it takes to do the impossible. The Outsiders, a young adult fiction novel, by S.E Hinton, has multiple acts of heroism throughout the novel. Sacrifice, care, bravery, courage, etc; but only one of the characters in the novel exhibits all of the above qualities and is a true hero.
