Throughout his lifetime Theodore Roosevelt contributed a great amount to the United States of America and the development of what the United States is today, for example the new food acts he created, the deals he created and the ones he developed in greater detail. Theodore Roosevelt should be regarded as one of the most accomplished and toughest presidents of the United States during the nineteenth century due to the examples above and all of the contributions he made throughout his lifetime and dedication he had and not just during his presidency but throughout his lifetime that makes The United States what it is today.

Due to this illness Roosevelt was homeschooled and grew up in the privacy of his house where he had many tutors and was pressured by his father to make himself tougher by doing things like lifting weights which made him physically and mentally stronger, this happened until he was an adolescent and went to college. Unlike many other presidents before him who although didn't have an illness had a much tougher upbringing than him because of the poverty and hardships they grew up in. Roosevelt’s asthma is the reason he had time to have a greater education than most because he could not do jobs that required manual labour or go to what is now considered public school so he was able to focus more on things like politics which made him a brilliant and sophisticated man at a young age. Roosevelt did many different jobs and things with his life throughout his lifetime before becoming president. While going to Harvard at age 18 he took a variety of different courses they included; German, Natural History, Zoology, Forensics and Composition although when his father passed away he returned to Harvard and decided to major in History and Government to honour his father and believed that going …show more content…

Soon later he filled many different public service positions in New York. Four years later after both his mother and wife died right after the birth of his first child he decided to go back to what was then the Dakota territories right after the 1884 election and wanted to learn to survive in the wilderness and become a rancher. After returning to politics he soon married his second wife and decided to become a writer instead but returned to politics again afterwards. Once the Spanish American broke out he left the government and led a charge in a battle becoming a war hero. Once again for the final time he re-entered politics for the third time. Although Theodore Roosevelt was not the most committed politician before becoming president he had many hardships throughout his lifetime and believed that taking on different jobs could make him a smarter and better politician to help him to reach higher and more important jobs in the government.
