There are two approaches of engineering ethics which are as follows: i. Micro-Ethics: This approach stresses on typical and day to day problems which play an important role in the field of engineering. ii. Macro-Ethics: This approach deals with social problems which are unknown and suddenly burst out on a regional or national level. So, it is necessary for an engineer to pay attention to both of the approaches by having a careful study of how they affect them professionally and personally. The engineers have to deal themselves with the everyday problems from both personal and societal point of view. This is possible only because of various branches of engineering like civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, chemical etc. Engineers can complete their work with the help of team or coordination of team. There are some cases which explain and make the engineers to be familiar with the outline of the case in future and also about their related ethical issues. In spite of the engineers’ full attention and care, sometimes the product or project can be unsafe or less useful. This may be due to some reasons i) The product or project are designed for early obsolescence or ii) due to under pressure because of running out of time or iii) budgetary factors or iv) by ignorance on the size of the project, or iv) less attention is given by the engineers due to the large number of products sold. When malfunction of the system is a rapid one, the disaster will be to greater extent and can be noticed immediately. When these are slow and unobserved, the impact is delayed. So, the engineers should not ignore the functions of these …show more content…

Consequently, to find the reasons of serious industrial accidents such as nuclear plant mishap at Chernobyl (Russia), gas leakage at Chemical plant of Bhopal (India) etc. In the same way, oil leakage from some oil extraction plants (the Exxon Valdez plant), harmful waste, pollution and other related services, natural calamities like floods, earthquake and danger from using asbestos and plastics are some more cases for engineering disasters. These fields should be properly aware of engineering ethics. Thus, it is essential for engineers to be aware of different types of tragedies. They should also conscious about the importance of the organism of
