ABSTRACT In this paper a literature review on flat-plate solar air heater having different obstacles on absorber plates has been highlighted. The thermodynamic analysis for SAHs with different obstacles and comparisons which was done among them by different researchers is reviewed in this paper. Further, the energy analysis and exergy analysis of SAHs have been discussed too. Keywords:- Solar Air Heater …show more content…
Annually, the solar energy obtained by earth is 15000 as much as the power industry of the whole world can produce. It means that only a tiny part of solar energy is used for the sake of mankind (Aboltinset al., 2009) solar air heaters (SAHs) are kinds of heat exchangers. Solar air heater is the special type of heat exchanging equipment used to convert the solar thermal energy useful heat for the purpose of agricultural food processing, space heating, ventilation and desalination [1]. The harnessing of solar energy by solar air heaters depends on the conversion efficiency of solar intensity into useful heat output by the absorber plates. The major negative aspect of a solar air heater is its poor heat transfer coefficient between the absorber plate and the moving air, which results in poor energy conversion efficiency. However, the heat transfer coefficients between the absorber plate and the moving air can be improved by heat storage materials [2], by packed bed absorber plates [3], by creating

Article 1 David Nelson Crosthwait Jr was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 27th in 1898. He is and african american pioneer in the field of heating and air conditioning. He is best known for heating up Radio City Music City in New York City. Crosthwait grew up in Kansas City,Missouri, where he attended all-black school. His parents were very encouraging and challenged him to do experiments and to make designs.

At Newport Harbor High School many students and teachers suffer from the heat, making them uncomfortable in their classrooms and being drenched in sweat and feeling disgusting, but some students and teachers get to stay in nice and cold class rooms that has air conditioning. This shows an inequality in our school and that this is not fair to the students and staff. Scott Faludi a Newport Harbor sophomore said that working in a classroom with no air conditioning makes it “really hard to concentrate and pay attention”. Scott thinks that our school should figure out a way to install air conditioning in all the classrooms soon making it so all of, instead of just having it in some so the staff and students do not have to suffer in the heat. Scott
Harmon Solar Review Summary Harmon Solar is a local second-generation family-owned company that has been in business for more than 40 years. They were founded in 1975 by Richard and Jean Harmon and were originally Harmon Electric, Inc. Then they began offering solar services in 2008 under the name Harmon Solar.
Global climate change is a very serious problem that we must pay close attention to. The main reason that causes climate change is that there are too many carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. If the temperature keeps getting higher and higher, there will be many problems that can cause great damage to us and the environment. If we don’t replace fossil fuels with other clean energy, our Co2 level will be as many as the time of the dinosaurs and we don’t know what will our lives be if this really happened. The best way to solve this is by using solar energy.
The first electrical air conditioning was invented in the year 1902 by an inventor named Carrier, while attempting to control the humidity and heat for publishing company in Brooklyn. The use of air conditioners spread rapidly and has become embedded in a consumer society. over the past few decades the energy of consumption in Saudi Arabia has risen by 35% as a result of using air conditioners in summer, that has inspired me to write this topic. However, the inventing of air conditioner was a huge turning of history and has greatly contributed to produce comfort, improve health, increase efficiency, and raise the overall standard of living. besides it is a great contributor to greenhouse gas.
The ratio of propylene glycol to water in the mixture used was 2:5, 1000 Watts per square meter of total solar irradiance, ambient temperature of 20°C, wind speed of 2 m/s and a diffuse irradiance of 110 Watts per square meter, the average temperature of collector fluid was lower than 100 °C and a volume flow rate ranging from 5 to 25 Liters per
The implementation of modern and intelligent control technology on our heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems can translate into great energy savings, especially in

Scientists have found that renewable energy is a path towards the future for a clean and safe environment. Throughout all the studies and findings, there is a continuing fret whether people should be able to use a traditional way of energy or renewable energy, solar power. Solar energy is seen to be effective since there has progressively been more places that are benefiting from solar usage; however there are also some who disagree. Solar energy sources are derived from natural sources and is implicated throughout our daily lives. From the lights in the streets to the computers we use at home.
Consequently, it was discovered that the aluminium can with cotton wool that acted as an insulator was discovered to be the best material as the final result was 69.5°C.7 This differed to the aluminium can without material as an insulator with a temperature of 62°C at nine minutes. The can with aluminium foil started off with a temperature of 73.5°C and slowly made it’s way to 65°C, proceeded it to be the second best insulator despite the material to have worked better at being a conductor. The can that had no materials was discovered to be the least efficient at trapping heat energy from hot water because one layer will not make a big difference as because aluminium is known to conduct heat better than insulating thermal
Geothermal energy is a form of energy in which heat energy from within Earth is captured and harnessed for cooking, bathing, space heating, electrical power generation, and other uses (Geothermal Energy, 2016). The heat is produced mainly by the radioactive decay of potassium, thorium, and uranium in Earth’s crust and mantle and also by friction generated along the margins of continental plates (Geothermal Energy, 2016). The annual low-grade heat flow to the surface averages between 50 and 70 milliwatts (mw) per square metre worldwide (Geothermal Energy, 2016). Using solar panels to produce solar energy is the best possible solution to global warming. Solar panels can be used for a wide variety of applications including remote power
