So I selected atopic which related to my major. After selecting my topic “The Importance of Time Management among AOU Business Students”. I formed three research. I read about my topic from different resources which are internet websites. From what I read. I wrote the literature review and introduction of my project. After that, I started designing my research tool. That is questionnaire. My questionnaire consists of three parts. First, part one is personal information. Second, part two is scale questions. Third, part three is open question. I printed ten copies and distributed them for the respondents. Then I collected questionnaire and I started analyzing my data. This year I set out to improve this very important skill. Time management is a skill that will be important all throughout your life. In the past I use to just barely turn my assignments in by the deadline or even sometimes past it. I used a planner and reminders on my phone to help me with this. I was tired of always feeling rushed to finish assignments or even chores around my house that I googled ways to improve on not being distracted which contributed to my time management.
Additionally, practical time management skills a lot time in which to complete all my academic tasks within a timely. Time management ability will positively decrease my research, writing, and proofreading processes as I continue in the course. Also, having an ability to connect my hourly work schedule to online assignments and study time increases the effectiveness. As final analysis I believe as a student spending twenty or more hours a week on research activities, fifty-six hours per week sleeping, eight hours eating, and twenty hours involved with leisure activities.
Learn how to work in shorter time so it helped Ford's workers to work even harder. Surprisingly, six hours of just working can actually make things better. A comprehensive log will be kept for the first week to observe where I waste the most and the least amount of time. I felt that this really hit home for me because I find myself often starting tasks at work without a plan in mind and often end up aimlessly working on bits and pieces and wasting time. I plan to do this by updating my agenda daily to set my deadlines and prioritize daily tasks and preplanning goals. By doing this daily in the morning, I will have the ability to time block my day into three sections (morning, afternoon, night) to plan my day. The Importance of Being On Time Respect is something that we all desire, but earning it is no easy task. One of the most respectable traits anyone can have, civilian or soldier can have is time management. When you report for duty, or be on time for your date, time management should be a must. By not managing your time well, you could disrupt not only the course of your day, but others as well. Keeping your word and showing up on time shows that you are reliable and appreciate the other person's time as well.
I learned in this activity how crucial time management skills will be to my ability to complete this course successfully. The analysis from the questionnaire (Table 2) as well as keeping a record of what activities I focus on for a couple of days, opened my eyes to a few areas of improvement. From the patterns observed I could see that most of my time was taken up by work and commitments as well as procrastination. Not being able to juggle theses successful led to irritation and was unproductive. Research suggests that managing ones emotions, being self-aware and self-motivate can be factors for success for a student (Allan, 2009).
Think about it this way: determine the order of things that must occur in order to complete the task, and then simply do each one as a task in itself. You will enjoy the fulfilling feeling of accomplishment as you complete each step, and before you know it, the entire task will be done! Three strategies for overcoming procrastination are time management, goal setting, and stop thinking and start doing. I think it is important to set a deadline based on being realistic with your time management. For example, when I do chores, I take two hours to clean around the house. I do not waste my valuable time doing yard work because I have a schedule to follow. Another tactic is goal setting because that motivates you to do a task or a project.
Time management is important to have because it helps get work done more efficiently and is a way to manage your priorities. Priorities along with making commitments are also learned from participating in a extra activity. Students learn how to prioritize their work when in activities while also finding a balance of everything else going on in their life; commitment is also learned but showing that a student needs to be 100% involved to put in their best effort to whatever they choose to do and to be be successful doing it. “Various research studies have lined participation in student activities to higher math and english grades, improved grades and homework completion, better performance on math, reading and science test, and an increased likelihood of applying to college” (Annemarie Mannion).
Frequent postponement and delaying of work may compromise one’s performance as cognitive process dampen time is limited. Nevertheless, the detrimental effects of procrastination can be hindered by avoiding unrealistic goals through simple techniques such as Best, Worst, Real Exercise and Design Thinking Principles. Strong time management by prioritizing tasks and dividing tasks into smaller portions can also avert procrastination. Time management: Time management is a very crucial component if you are willing to have a productive lifestyle. To be honest, I have always had issues with managing my time efficiently. This problem had become a huge obstacle once I got into college. Thus, attending a lecture that focuses on time management helped me a lot with this problem by introducing me to different aspects related to time management: planning, SMART goals, and important/urgent matrix. Learning to make a specific plan for my daily tasks and make a to-do list to make my day as productive as possible is something very helpful which was advised to me by the instructor of this lecture Mr. Irfan.
