I have struggled with this scripture and how to tie it with our school work. I have read the definition of a thesis statement several times. I have read the scriptures multiple times. I have prayed for the Lord to help me see what is expected or needed. I read the scriptures one more time in another version, all of a sudden it sunk in. Luke was not like the other disciples, he was an educated doctor mentoring others like Theophilus(young believer/disciple). Luke loved "order& detail". He is like us, using our critical thinking, telling specific details(such as in a research paper), and using his thesis statement to probe deeper into the actual events of what was going on 2000 years ago. Luke is explaining the Word of God In such a way that
I referred to unit 7’s discussion post where you outlined your essay. So far your research has proven to make for an interesting essay. I’m sorry I did not find a persuasive thesis statement in Unit 8 though, meaning I’m not convinced that there should be a policy change. I know you stated this is a working thesis statement which was not included in unit 8’s post. If you don’t mind, I would like to give some guidance.
Jesus’ ministry was public so many people saw what he did and what he was about. The Gospel of Luke really highlights Jesus’ compassion towards the “outcast” of Israel, and forgiveness towards those who did not deserve it. I love that the Gospel of Luke shows that Jesus did not care about money or the “class” of people, but that he just cared for people for who they were, it was kind of his focus in his ministry. It is reassuring to know that when Jesus was physically on earth, it was a class-conscious society, like the world now so the Gospel of Luke is very insightful and inspiring in that aspect. Luke also talks about the discipleship Jesus taught, His death on the cross, and
The reason that he was guide running was because he got in trouble with the law. When that happened he got lucky with a deal, which was 2-4 months of community service with the blind, which was Jodi. During the book there was a natural progression of Luke and his change from being a nasty criminal who would break into things, into the nice, thoughtful, and determined person in the end. And the main message of the story is that their is always something better that you can do, compared to being a criminal, and that you should always do the right thing.

The Smarthinking program offers assistance in areas that majority of adult students may struggle in such as creating a essay. Since I’ve been out of school for almost 20 years I’ve struggled with creating a successful essay. I didn’t understand why we needed to prepare to tell a story. However I learned that college was much more then just writing or telling a story. It requires you to have organization starting with a topic introduction, thesis statement, main ideas and closing statement so that your audience can have a clear understanding of the message your giving.
What is English Composition II? English Composition II is an advanced English course that challenges a writer to grow and develop better writing skills. Throughout the course, the writer learns about APA format, interpretation, claims, evidence, citations, and thesis statements. During English Composition II, many distinct aspects of my writing have improved, I believe I have improved most through my argumentative thesis statements, as dictated by my entrance essay, rhetorical analysis essay, and long research paper; this will be proven by analysis of each chronologically whilst also relating them to my writing experience in English Composition II. Initially, in my entrance essay, my thesis was not up to college level and was dull when
I have revised my thesis statement to two sentences, rather than one. This is so that my point can be understood in a more effective way. My thesis statement is as follows. “There should be more stringent screening processes for individuals wanting to own guns in the United States because the current laws and regulations do not require mental health background checks and evaluations. Too many people with mental health issues are slipping through the cracks and obtaining weapons and then using them on innocent people.”

People say that Luke was a physician and was a very wealthy man. He was hardworking and really devoted his life to live in Christ's’ footsteps. St. Luke is one of the four evangelists or “traditionally ascribed authors of canonical Gospels.” Contained within the gospel we see how much care to detail was taken in transcribing this gospel. A good deal of research and energy were put into the minute detail of this gospel.
Matthew and Luke were both evangelists. They both helped to spread the Gospel, the good news of Jesus. Their telling of the Gospel is very similar, yet very different at the same time. They are similar because they both tell the same story.
Position statement: For college Should I or should I not, that is the decision we all encounter when we finally reach high school. Now, there are many factors that will affect a person’s life. The most important of these factors is whether or not one has a college degree. Through out this essay I will discuss why I believe that it would be advantageous for students to continue their education in college. I believe this because the unemployment rate (proven by FRED) among high school graduates is incredibly much higher than people that have graduated from college.
Throughout his gospel, Jesus is depicted essentially as a humanitarian and a teacher. It shows him in the light that he helped the poor, aided the sick and ill and taught in a more philosophical way. It is also important to note that Luke took a rather more mindful way to writing his gospel because he was writing to a more educated audience (particularly throughout Greece). In view of the fact that he was addressing a more knowledgeable society, there were a lot more political and cultural concerns present throughout his gospel.
As I conclude this semester, I am able to look back and reflect upon my works with a greater clarity than I previously possessed. The lessons learned in this course have aided me in not only enhancing my writing, but of understanding the concepts of mature reasoning. Using this tools, I not only write with a much greater confidence, but can properly support my arguments to ensure they stand up to rebuttal by ensuring sources are credible and free of bias. When one aims to argue, no concept is more essential to achieve correctly, than is the thesis statement. A thesis statement embodies an individual’s argument within a single phrase.
When it comes to writing drafts, I think the one of the most helpful ways is to ‘copy and paste your outline into a new document and begin filling it in. Go in any order you want’. I think this way is really helpful because you can see what your essay needs. The outline shows that you need to have a thesis statement, introduction, body and conclusion which you need to create. This is the strategy that I use when writing an essay, and I believe it is a good way to get your essay started.
One writing task that I believe I did well on when writing the practice essay would be my use of structure. My thesis statement was clear as the introduction of my essay, explaining what my topic sentences will be pertaining to throughout the entire paper. One writing task that I believe I could work on is my development. I should have incorporated more details and ideas that supported every topic sentence that occurred. For example, in my essay I talked about my travels regarding the military, however, I barely scratched the surface of what new and exciting features about the places that I could’ve capitalize on.
