1. Thomas Jefferson’s most important achievement was being the author of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This was an important achievement because Jefferson was personally appointed to Congress to right the Constitution. This shows Congress had faith in Jefferson to right the document that declared independence from Great Britain. Also, Jefferson wrote the Declaration in only 17 days.
2. Thomas Jefferson’s second most important achievement was being the President of the United States from 1801-1809. This was an important achievement because he was elected as the president for two terms, which proved the people of the United States believed in Jefferson. This also shows Jefferson was a very successful leader.

Thomas Jefferson was instrumental in helping to create and establish the new government in America. People usually remember Jefferson as the third president of the United States and the drafter of the Declaration of Independence; however, Jefferson also had a prosperous political career between the times of these two events. Between 1775 and 1789, Thomas Jefferson held multiple political roles in the new country, including working in both the legislative and executive branches of state government and acting as Ambassador to France. Thomas Jefferson’s well-rounded and thorough education made him knowledgeable in many areas, which made him the ideal person to write the Declaration of Independence. Lee Wilkins and R.B. Bernstein agree that Jefferson’s
“Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.” He should believe so, as Thomas Jefferson’s actions clearly characterize his individual self, while also inducing the question, Does Thomas Jefferson deserve the honor he possesses, through these eminent actions?
The document was introduced into the Virginia General Assembly in 1779, declared freedom of religion a “natural right that became a model for the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. President Jefferson doubled the size of the United States after purchasing over 8000,000 square miles of Louisiana Territory, from France at the cost of 15 billion dollars, could you imagine what the United States would be or not be if he would not have made that wise purchase. Thomas Jefferson went against his Republican views of strict interpretation of the constitution and bypassed the senate to purchase the Louisiana Territory. Thomas Jefferson was a great writer , but not skilled at public speaking. Writing the Declaration of Independence not only made Thomas Jefferson famous, but it displayed what a great writer he was, as well as made many feel he was a hypocrite.
The second reason Thoams Jefferson was the strongest leader. Thomas Jefferson contributed to the Expansion of the country. Thomas jefferson believed strongly in the westward expansion of thye country as far as the Pacific Ocean. He funded and inspired Lewis and Clark to go out on their famous Expedition.
The Age of Reason is a name used to describe the age that influenced the American Statesmen of the Revolution. Taxes forced upon the colonists by Britain after the French and Indian War enraged the colonists, leading to the Revolution that would change the world forever. Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence and Thomas Paine’s The Crisis Number 1 were two very important works of literature during the Revolutionary period. Both works used persuasion effectively.
Although America was haunted by war and conflict during its first hundred years as a free nation, there are many events that I will consider to be impressive that helped shape our country little by little. Although I was not familiar with a lot of the history of the churches during the colonial days (The Great Awaking) has really impressed me because it taught me how the Baptist congregation would grow from small numbers to larger numbers. It also explained to me how it expanded and that some of the pastors did not even have formal educations in order to preach. The next event involved Thomas Jefferson, whom I learn quite a lot about while conducting my research for my (American History in Video Project).
Thomas Jefferson was quite an interesting fellow. You may already know some general facts about him. He is one of the founding fathers of the United States. He is also one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Along with dealing with politics and the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson was also famous for his inventions.
A). Thomas Jefferson created the Declaration of Independence in 1776. It binds us together as a nation stating, “All men are created equal and possess the same inherent, natural right.” It turned out to be a dangerous document because this was a time of slavery and blacks were not treated the same. The 56 men that signed the document knew the penalty would be death if ever captured.
The Declaration of Independence is an extremely important document to the United States. Thomas Jefferson receives the most credit for writing the declaration, however he was assisted by five other men that were apart of the Constitutional Congress. They wrote the declaration to persuade the colonist to break free from Britain. The Declaration of Independence uses numerous persuasive appeals and language, including parallelism, pathos, and ethos. Parallelism is “a pattern in writing in which words and phrases are similar in structure, one echoing another.”
Of Thomas Jefferson’s triumphs, his advancement of personal rights has had the greatest effect on modern day America. Without his enlightenment ideas and push for the Bill of Rights, the United States would not be the same amazing country that exists today. God bless
Thomas Jefferson was a very dedicated person. He was very high on education and he was a very generous man. He was well liked and lived a very good life. Throughout his early, young, adult and retired life, Thomas Jefferson gained the respect of many people. Thomas Jefferson 's studiousness, selflessness and generosity, and leadership allowed him to be respected as a president, member of the continental congress and senator and as an author of the Declaration of Independance.
Thomas Jefferson during his time in office faced many challenges with the new country. One major challenge and one of the biggest accomplishments during his presidency was the Louisiana Purchase. This turned out to be a huge issue for Jefferson because of the ordeals and the way he wanted to run the government. This was a major conflict in interest for Jefferson because he was a strict constitutionalist and followed it word for word. In the end what he did was completely overstep his powers as president doing what he feared would happen by purchasing the Louisiana territory without any approval from congress for 15 million dollars.
Thomas Jefferson had an enormous impact on the American society. He influenced America to unite as one nation. He shaped a strong central government and had a judicial exceed. If he hadn’t shaped a strong government maybe we wouldn’t have the rights we have today. He proceeded by doing this by influencing the constitution.
Throughout the years there has been many individuals whom have helped shape The United States of America into the independent country it is today. It’s hard to believe that this country was at one point governed by a distant British king, and that before Americans claimed equal rights, they were subject to British tyranny. Americans were in desperate need of a leader who would step up for his people and declare independence, Americans were in desperate need of Thomas Jefferson. ‘ Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 at his family home in Shadwell, not far from Charlottesville. His father, Peter Jefferson, was a planter while his mother, Jane Randolph, was a stay at home mom.
Jefferson wants to inspire the rest of the American colonists to believe in the fight for freedom, even if it meant sacrificing their own lives. The Declaration of Independence is one of the most enduring documents because it reflects the will of the people. The genius of Thomas Jefferson is that he uses the rhetorical devices so effectively in his writing. The audience is moved by his words.
