IVF is one of the techniques.
Every human cell comprises two main parts, which are the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The nucleus contains the DNA, with genetic codes that helps to shape the inherited traits. The cytoplasm is like a workshop in the cell, where most functions occur. Mitochondria in the cell which provides energy from the conversion of food, which let the human body to function. Years later, with the different methods of reproduction like IVF, the research on embryo is are focused on improving the pregnancy rates and results. The manipulations of human embryos are justified when it is for improvement, for example succumbing the common diseases, hence it is beneficial. However, when the researches are more successful, more objections rises because people think that they are not ‘natural’ as the embryo is a human tissue that deserves respect too. Due to the experiments and therapeutic manipulations, embryos are lost through that process. It may be the lack of consent from the embryo as it cannot get to choose, also, it brings more harm than …show more content…

Many may think that this is destroying God’s creation. Mr. David Cameron responded that “We’re not playing with God here, we are just making sure that two parents who want to have a healthy baby can have one.” From BBC, Lily Foundation website, there were arguments about mitochondria donation as the proponents mentioned that “a woman with mitochondria diseases will be able to have healthy offspring” and “scientific reviews have ruled that it is not ‘unsafe’.” However, the opponents stated that “it is stepping towards the slippery slope of genetic modification and creation of designer babies.” Also, “small amount of DNA will be passed on to future generations.” Scientists also warned that there are still doubts about the
