Everybody has their own opinion of what a hero is. A hero is someone who does what they believe is right, no matter what anybody has to say. They stand their ground and don’t fall into negativity. A hero is someone who is selfless and inspires us to be a better version of our own selves. One of the best examples of a hero is Atticus Finch, a lawyer and father in the 1930s in the book To Kill A Mockingbird. Many may believe a different character in the novel is worthy enough of being called a leader but since the beginning of the book Atticus has greatly demonstrated the strong and bold qualities of a hero.
In the novel “The Outsiders” It’s hard trying to live in a world greasers against socs. I believe the author S.E Hinton wanted us to know to stay golden as long as you can. Meaning stay the way you are and don’t change for anyone. In my eyes a hero is a person that risks their lives or does something nice for you. Whether it’s small or big anyone can make a change in the word being a hero. Being a hero doesn 't always mean you risk your life for someone. It can be something like a person getting out of their way to do something for you. In my eyes the hero of this novel is Johnny
Many people admire Chris McCandless for wanting to find his happiness and consider him as a hero, and some consider McCandless a fool for his lack preparedness and unjustified choices. So which is he then? Chris dropped everything in his life to go chase a dream in the Alaskan Wild. He lived in an upper middle class family with everyday luxuries, but he never had the best relationship with his father. Chris' father had secretly created and had another whole family with another woman he had cheated on his mother with. Chris wanted nothing to do with his family after finding that out.
“A true hero isn’t measured by the size of their strength, but by the strength of their heart.” A hero is a person that does something to help or they can also save someone 's life. One example of, being a hero is Darry because he takes care of Ponyboy and Sodapop. Another example, of being a hero is Johnny when he saved Ponyboy and the little kids. A further example, of being a hero is Ponyboy when he also saved the little kid’s life and when he wanted to take the blame for killing Bob. Yes any of the greasers can be a hero by just doing one little thing and they don’t even realize that they are a hero.
A hero is a man or woman that leaves their known world to go off into the unknown world, and go make a positive impact. Heroes aren’t just the big strong super heroes that can fly and shoot laser beams out of their eyes. There is more behind the superheroes than just killing the bad guy. For example, Batman was called to adventure when his parents were killed and he was sitting right there watching. Bruce left his home town to go out get training to become a crime fighter. He ended up saving the whole town for being destroyed and taken over. Heroes are people that have great character, want to do good, and wouldn’t ever do something bad to harm an innocent person. A real life example of a hero is Martin Luther King Jr., because he cared so
There is a hero in almost every story. A hero doesn’t always necessarily involve physical strength, it can be defined many other ways. A hero is someone who is idealized for their noble qualities, courage and outstanding achievements. In Mary Shelley’s book, Frankenstein, the hero in the story is Victor Frankenstein. Victor sacrifices his family, his life, and other peoples lives for his pursuit of creating life, and attempting to cure diseases. Although Victor fits a few traits of being a hero, he is more of a tragic hero with a fatal flaw. Therefore, Victor’s quest for creating life leads to his downfall.
The United States has had very many heros that served as our presient. Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington are all heros and were a very important part of our society. They all did everything they could do to make this world a better place, yet they all had their differences in going about doing it. But i will have to say that the strongest president was Thomas Jefferson. Thomas was one of the smartest men to live and not only was he very smart but he had a desire to constantly learn new things. He never gave up and always had the ethic to work hard in education. That helped him to be an amazing president.
You asked me to define "The American" and whether or not founding fathers like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Payne, and Thomas Jefferson were the pioneers of the idea. The first major problem with this question is that Thomas Payne definitely wasn't American, after all, he was kicked out post-revolution for subversive ideas such as "Women Rights", "Banning Slavery", and "Atheism". The other hero here, Benjamin Franklin, was well aged by the countries actual founding. In fact he was eighty-three while attending as a delegate for the constitutional convention. Although he was a critical component in lighting the fires of the American Revolution (after all, he did invite a younger Thomas Payne onto a boat across the world in hope to start a better life), he died several years after in 1790. Ironically his last goal was a push for the ending of slavery, which he failed at. Our final "Great American" , Thomas Jefferson, was known to be a literary and technical genius. However he also was considered by many in his time to be posh, aristocratic, And generally out of touch with most of Americans. He also had a bad track record with freedom of speech, which kind of was the founding principle of the United States.
Numerous People state that Chris McCandless was a very thoughtless individual who made crazy decisions after graduating college. Yet many people found his actions to be inspiring as he risked his life to flee the hectic world that surrounded him. As Chris was raised in a perfect environment, living in wealthy middle-class, His relationship with his parents was very degenerating especially towards his father after he found out his dad cheated on his mother when he was younger. This ultimately led Chris to begin his trip to Alaska so he can find his true-self and to live life how it's meant to be lived.
What is a hero? What must one do to qualify for the honor of having such a title? A man named Joseph Campbell wrote a book called The Hero with a Thousand Faces, with the idea that there is a road on which most heroes in most stories travel on their way to becoming a hero. This is called The Hero’s Journey. From leaving the comfort of The Shire to helping defeat a dragon and returning home with the treasure Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien is one of these heroes.
Who is your hero? It may be your dad or, perhaps another family member, one that you have known your whole life as a hero. Maybe it is a fictional character. A person that you don't know or have never seen, but still you think of them as a hero. No matter who someone's hero is one thing stays the same. A hero is someone that has strived to help out of their own will.
I had asked God to show me His love for me like if He needed to prove it. In my questioning and in my doubts, I made it seem as if I didn't trust Him. He took my hand and led me to a crowded street. I could barely see through all the crowd. In the distance I could see that it was He Himself who the crowd was after. He had a crown of thorns on His head, and a cross upon His fragile back. The blood dripped from His body, but none of the ones screaming at Him or spitting on Him seemed to care. They wanted Him dead. I cried out loud, and didn't want to see anymore, but God told me to look at the proof that I wanted to see. I looked at the terrible scene once again, and this time they were nailing Him to the cross. They lifted up the cross,
Every 10 minutes, a new person is added to the organ transplant list (organdonor.gov). That’s 144 people each and every day. With the help of human cadavers, those 144 people can be helped and be given the opportunity to a more prolonged life. Mary Roach uses her book to inform people of this and uses different rhetorical devices to convince people to join in on the donation.
I woke up in a dark room with a massive headache that beat like a drum. I slowly got up and tried to remember what happened. I remember a huge storm that ravaged the west coast, then a space-ship came down and started to abduct people. “Oh no, I have been abducted!” I screamed to myself. As I said that the door opened, and light flooded into the dark room. My jaw dropped as I saw a huge poster behind me and it looked almost like animal cell. The man who opened the door said to me, “Come with me, now”.
A hero exhibits many qualities. Responsibility, bravery, and loyalty are just a few on many qualities that can be found in heroes. But to me, some of the most important qualities a hero needs are recognizing one's flaws and weaknesses, listening to others, and selflessness. With recognizing one's flaws and weaknesses, a person, a hero, can learn what they need to do to better themselves. They know the limit of their abilities and can work to improve themselves. Or, they can rely on people who can make up for their own weaknesses. It shows growth when a hero can do this. By overcoming such things, the hero can grow in their abilities and can become better at helping others. Listening to others is being able to take on note other's opinions and be willing to act on them. In doing this, a hero could achieve more as sometimes, other people do have better ideas or know what to do or just have a better overall grasp of a situation. A hero needs to know when to
