In the novel Time Enough for Drums by Ann Rinaldi, there are many characters. The one that interests me the most is Daniel Emmerson. But there is some things you'd want know about him. He is an older brother to Jemima and David Emmerson. He is one of the most wise and mature of the family. Also as he fought in the Revolutionary War. The reason I chose Daniel for this is because he is strong, courageous, and brave. Dan is a strong character in the novel. I think Ann Rinaldi made him like this because he has to carry a musket around in The Revolutionary war. To prove my guess i have a quote by Jemima Emmerson: “If only the gun weren’t so heavy(Ann 4)” the reason i chose this is because this proves that he is strong. Also
Elias Adams lived 89 years. In those years he served his country, crossed the plains. Elias Adams was an accomplished man, a father, a husband, and a friend. He was brave in the way he served, and protected what he loved. He was dedicated in the way he lived, and loved.
He is tall and very handsome. He helps Eli find her father. He is a cheat, and a lying freak. He changed because he started to understand why the sheriff killed his father and forgave him. Another minor character is Eli’s dad, Alfred.
One of the themes in the novel was wisdom. Wisdom is portrayed in the novel by Daniel's parents. The wisdom of his parents enables them to survive longer than many other people. In the text it says, "She also insisted that we pack our warmest clothes, and our best winter coats, and wear our ski boots!" This was very wise of Daniel's mother because they did not know how long they would be gone and where they were being sent to.
He represented “the old aristocratic concept might somehow survive and be dominant in American life (393)... a class of men with a strong sense of obligation to the community (394)... a static society which could endure almost anything except change (395)… He would fight to the limit of endurance to defend it, because in defending it he was defending everything that gave his own life its deepest meaning.”(395). His fight was for the retention of the old chivalric values in America, and privileges for the people who owned land. He believed that it was a good and important thing to human society to have inequality I the social structure.
He arrives to work and see's Pino, his coworker, and son of Sal, give him a dirty look and said, " you are late". Pino is a racist person who does not like black people and does not get along with Mookie. In contrast, Vito is a nice and respectful individual who is friends with Mookie. It is with these four individuals that Sal's pizzeria had become so well known in New York. Sal is a person who likes to help everyone and is a well-rounded individual.

Daniel’s family was barely able to cope with the circumstances of the time. In fact, after the death of Daniel Hale Williams II, the head of the house, the family was forced to be divided. Williams' mother realized she could not manage the entire family after the death of her husband. Therefore, she sent some of the children to live with relatives. Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.
“A true friend accepts who you are and helps you become who you should be.” Steve and Nathaniel proved that friendship and happiness can be real in the novel The Soloist by Steve Lopez. The way friendship is portrayed in the novel is unexpected in such a way that we don’t see it happen often in our daily life. It is important to our society because finding a true friend is really difficult to find. True friendship is hard to find now in days because we expect many things in return from other people.
The Drummer Boy of Shiloh and Drumbeats and Bullets are two different stories, and both are about drummer boys in the Civil War. Although they are both about drummer boys, they still have some differences. Both stories are at least part nonfiction. The Drummer Boy of Shiloh is about a specific drummer boy named Joby. Joby is a young drummer boy who is getting ready for the war.
(Yoon, 101) Daniel’s perspective is used to emphasize his desire to be in control of fate. Yoon uses this to illustrate Daniels' particular reliance on fate, reflecting upon the restrictiveness of his path. The author firstly illustrates the state of Daniel, with his reliance on fate and meant-to-be, to distract himself from the fact that he must become a doctor, and not control his own destiny. Moreover, as the story progresses, Daniel begins to understand the little control he has over his own fate through the unexpectedness of events, the author shows the changes to Daniel’s perspective throughout the book.
Last week, we finished the last group work—World Drumming Project. Although this was the last project, my group members still did this project conscientiously. I think we did well in our group work. The first we discussion about how to assign the work, and then we began writing our rhythm. Our members contribute equally, and I think our cooperation leaded this job successfully.
