Soni Sori is on a 7-day long Tiranga Yatra these days. The foot march started on August 9 from the Maoist-affected Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. She shuttles between the yatra and the court every day.
The yatra will cover 180 kilometres in areas considered as Maoist hotbed and end at the Gompad village in Sukma with the unfurling of the tricolour on August 15. It was brought to attention that authorities had used coercive methods to produce a false confession from Ms.Lucio. It has shown that people who have survived sexual abuse and violence, as Ms.Lucio has from her stepfather when she was younger, are even more vulnerable to confessing under such coercive conditions. A very important and key factor that was not investigated by the authorities was Mariah’s health history. Mariah had a lengthy history of being prone to tripping which was due to her having a physical disability that made it difficult for her to walk at times.

Unfortunately, there are cases where some people went to jail and weren’t necessarily suppose to go to jail. But who truly knew if the officers or witness were telling the truth about the incident? That’s why body cameras should be mandatory for all police officers. It will force the suspects to not lie and enable the judge to have direct evidence in court, rather than comparing both stories and trying to put two and two together.
As Adnan states, “I would-- wouldn’t have asked for a ride after school. I’m-- I’m sure that I didn’t ask her ... -anyone who knows her knows she always goes to pick up her little cousin,” This is hard to prove because there are many witnesses that say he did ask for a ride. In the podcast, he stammers in this part and many other times and it is difficult to believe him. Along the same lines, did he kill her because of a declined request about a ride?
For instance, the mainstream press stated that she did not have any valid excuses to leave her family behind, and her children were insulted and antagonized by others at school. Three men were additionally indicted due to Liuzzo’s murder. There was also a fourth man in the vehicle named Gary Thomas Rowe, and he was a compensated FBI informant.
