If I do not have confidence I am not going to get any better, or be any good at all. I am always trying to improve my confidence and skills by going to camps. In 2012, I went to a baseball camp at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota with Cole Nisbit. That camp changed my life forever because it gave me confidence and I became best friends with Cole. First of all, I hate going to camps alone.
Think Big Leagues When I play baseball with my friends I have lots of fun, but imagine what it would be like to play on a professional team. My parents dream for me is to be successful and happy, but I have had an interest in baseball since I was four years old. I remember waking up ready to go play a tournament in the fresh summer air. When I watch the games on T.V, Mike Trout always stood out to me. To be a professional just like him, I would have to work as hard as him to get to the pros.
Although I knew deep down this fate was inevitable, I was still awestruck. I lost all confidence in myself. If I couldn’t even make the freshman team, how could I do anything? I was deterred, but fought back. I joined another little league team and had the best season yet as a baseball player.
It bothered me that others were winning. On the other hand, it taught me to work tirelessly towards a winning goal and to be untroubled of other’s successes. During one year of softball, we had the best pitcher in town. We won every single game we played that year. This was a “blessing”, however, it was a curse in disguise.
College players want to be better so they can make it into the pros, so they think they should do exactly what the pros do to reach their goal. College athletes follow their heroes and think that steroid use is the fastest and best way to get better. That is not the case, you need to show hard work and determination to get there. Brett Gardner has never used PEDs, and still is starting in the major leagues for one of the most storied franchises in baseball history. He is the perfect example of someone who goes to work each and every day and pushes himself to get better using the talent that he has and learning from the
The very well-known, former baseball player, Babe Ruth, is a victim of this. On the field, Ruth was an amazing baseball player and many people considered him a hero for this. Little did they know that off the field, he was betting on his games. For this reason, Babe Ruth wasn’t someone to look up to. He only showed us the side of him that was a great baseball player and a nice person, but if if you look beyond that, you found someone who was
Baseball is the Greatest Game Invented Baseball is the greatest sport ever invented. Many sports are fun to watch and play, but nothing compares to baseball. Baseball is a sport that a lot of people really love and have a true passion for. Baseball is the greatest sport ever invented because of difficulty, fans, and you must play it out. Difficulty in all sports at different.
I believe that my greatest skill is baseball. In my youth, I found that I didn’t enjoy sports as much as my parents pushed me to try them. Quite possibly the competitive nature of sports was not enjoyable and I felt that staying within the comforts of home was better. However, something clicked after following baseball for a season and I urged my parents to sign me up. The first season of baseball that I played was a learning experience, but was exciting the entire way.
My dad inspired me to play baseball because he said with the right training you can become a great baseball player. My dad showed me how to pitching, batting, fielding, and catching he told me if you put all your power into the ball and explode on the ball! It does´t matter on size or strength last year 2014 little league baseball, there were tall guys mostly all of them were five seven and mexico team had a kid that was four one was his height. But did that stop him he hit more homeruns than most of the guys there! That inspired me a lot so I stop being lazy and started asking my dad to play baseball with me,instaed of him asking me so I started practicing and there it was my first real baseball game in select baseball. Was i nervous yes but my
To save the best hero for last, it has to be my grandpa. I picked him as one of my heros because he is always makes time for me. For instance he has been to pretty much every single baseball game I have played which shows, he can most of the time make time for me. I also look up to him as a hero is because he is one of the funniest old timers I know. What I want to become is a mix of all of these things is to be as brave as Marlin, have the determination of Michael Jordan, the kindness of Scott Neeson, and the humor of my Grandpa which will make my
It made many people support him in his sad and frightening time of need. So many people were brought together for giving their love for one of the greats of all time. Who would have thought that a disaster like this would bring so many together. This man had made his career well known for being spoken out for his great hitting records and of course playing for one of, if not, the greatest team to ever exist, The 1920’s New York Yankees. Not many people could do what he did.
He played under some of the best catchers in MLB history including, Ivan Rodriguez, Jorge Posada, Jose Molina, Russell Martin, and Brian McCann. This is one reason he is such a great success now that he has a starting position. In an example form the article Francisco mentioned how Jorge was one of the hardest working on the team. Seeing Posada practice so hard drove Cervelli to practice his framing even more in his later seasons. No one excepted Cervelli to have such a big impact on the team.
The Baseball hall of fame is home to amazing players that have changed the game forever, and Pete Rose should be included with these men. Yes, Pete Rose did do a bad thing, which is that he placed bets on baseball, which is against baseball rules, but this shouldn’t change everything else. Pete Rose should be inducted into the hall of fame because choices he made as a team manager shouldn’t affect how he is recognized for his skill as a player. Rose was a great player in the 23 years he played, his skills being what should get him into the hall. Pete Rose was banished from baseball for life on August 24, 1989(Lagrave, 2015) for his gambling which broke rule number 21.
Before the season ended the upset ruth laid down his bat for final time, he ended his career as a coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Babe ruth was obviously one of the best to ever play the sport. He will always be a part of baseballs history, he was a great person on and off the field, the sport america knows and loves wouldn 't be the same without babe
These men are just a few of the greatest players in the history of the MLB. They are the definition of greatness and will forever be remembered. These men weren’t good enough to make the National Baseball Hall of Fame, but were still outstanding players.
