“When you choose an action, you choose the consequences of that action”.In the book/story “Into the wild”. Chris McCandless is not justified in leaving his family to go into the wild without a trace because he wasted resources and importantly police time and Alaska troopers' time because we're looking for Chris for a long time. Also, he was not safe because all the people he met told him that he should go prepared for Alaska and he ignored the people and ignored the dangers of Alaska. Also, Chris was not sane or mentally stable because he believed that civilization is poison and he burned his money and buried most of his stuff, and left his car before going into the wild. Also that he left because his family was abusive in his childhood made him have trauma. Some other people might also say that he wants to find the peace that he could not find when he was a child. but I disagree with this just because he is a grown man it doesn't mean that he can't make poor decisions. And if he had trauma from his childhood he could just talk and try to make their relationship better or get some money from his dad and travel somewhere good and live in peace. and freedom doesn't mean that you can do anything Chris left without telling no one which did a lot of damage to his family and wasted other people's time and resources who wanted to find
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer tells the story of a young traveler who ventures to Alaska in hopes of testing his abilities. There, he ultimately starves to death due to his unpreparedness. Chris McCandless was reckless and unready, and it cost him his life. He made dumb mistakes but altogether, he was a courageous young man who deserves to be praised for his bravery.
Kendall Waibel Mrs. Moffat English 5-6 11 January 2023 Was Chris Justified? Have you ever thought about leaving your family and friends to go out into the wild to just die? In Jon Krakauer’s book Into The Wild, a man named Chris left his whole life without a trace, to go into the wild. Chris McCandless was not justified in leaving his family without a trace. Chris had plenty of reasons to stay then go off into a forest, he had no reason to just abandon his family and leave them nothing, Chris’s life was not the worst thing ever and there was a better way he could have done things than just to leave.
How can one person be the same but be different at the same time? Isaac Swank-Le Period: 1 English 5-6 Was Chris Justified? If you could cut your family out of your life and never have to see them again unless you choose so, would you? Would you take that opportunity? There is a story of someone who did this and was made famous for it in Jon Krakauer's book Into the Wild.
Chris didn't really care about people's feelings so it was no surprise that he left everyone including his very close sister. His family was very distant to their children. Maybe that's the reason why he can't connect or refuses to connect to
Imagine if you were also being beaten at home. These are the things that Christopher McCandless was experiencing as he was growing up and he still is being criticized for leaving civilization for the wild. Many debate the reasons why McCandless may have entered the wild but to me the answer is pretty straight
Into The Wild Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer is a Biography about Chris McCandless a man who set off on a Journey or perhaps a suicide mission in May of 1990. With very little preparation and little to no training, Chris set off on this mission to live off the land in Alaska where it soon becomes clear that his decision to leave his hometown of Annandale, Virginia with no trace and his parents and 3 sisters behind was not at all Justifiable. First and foremost Chris McCandless grew up in what is described by one of his siblings as a “toxic” household. His father, Walt was living a double life having children with one woman while still married to another and constantly jumping between these lives.
Chris Mccandless was not justified for his actions, in Jon Krakauer’s book Into The Wild Chris was inconsiderate of his family and friends, he wasted resources such as police men and state troopers time, Also he was not safe mentally and physically during his journey which led him to his death. The first reason Chris Mccandless was not justified was because he was very inconsiderate of his family and didn’t think how they would feel about his disappearance. Before Chris left for his trip he was very close to his sister, When she found out that Chris was dead her world probably went upside down. On page 129 Chris;s family grieves his loss, his sister Carine saying “ I can’t seem to get through a day without crying”.
Into The Wild portrays a man who went on a fatal unforgettable journey through the alaska wilderness. Chris McCandless was a man with great courage and the ability to live on his own made him more of a hero going on his fatal journey. Many would say he was foolish or not thinking right, but that is not the case. The case here is simply a man with courage wanting to fulfill is beliefs through his journey. One may ask what is courage.
Was Chris Justified? In the book into the wild Chris is justified because he was an adult and did not have a very good past with his family and he wanted to find himself and did the things that made him happy. The first reason why Chris was justified because he was 18 still in high school living with his parents in Annandale Virginia around 2 years after was in his early 20s when he left (pg .22) “ by the beginning of August 1990 Chris's parents had heard nothing from him” this shows that Chris is old enough to make his own decisions. As an adult Chris's decision makes sense because he was mentally/physically abused by his mom and dad his dad would physically abuse and his mom would mentally abuse Chris by saying “you're the reason
A common thought among adolescents is the dream to finally leave home and discover who they are; I certainly share this dream. Though the concept is common, the reasons are unique; The differences in character and circumstances define who a person is. What may appear reasonable to some could very well be completely irrational to another. The story of Chris McCandless as reported by Jon Krakauer in the biographic novel Into the Wild is no exception. From the events in his childhood to the conflict with his father, we can see that Chris McCandless, a young man still discovering himself, became disillusioned with the structure of society and desired nothing more than to “no longer be poisoned by civilization” (163).
We have all made mistakes, for some they are small mistakes that do not impact anyone. For others, they are of mammoth proportions and have a preponderant impact on how people think, or say about them. In the book Into the Wild it tells about the journey of Chris McCandless who died in the Alaskan wilderness. Chris McCandless was definitely one of these people who made a big mistake. People around the globe have mixed feelings about this twentieth century adventurer.
Chris McCandless was a college student with a need for adventure. On April 28, 1992, he left on a journey which would lead to the end of his life. After news of his death had reached public ear, most people came to the same conclusion: Chris McCandless was an uneducated, arrogant boy who went on a journey seeking death. However, in the novel Into the Wild, Jon Krakaur portrays Chris McCandless’ transcendental quest as a journey full of wonder. Throughout the novel, Krakaur defines McCandless as an intelligent, hard working, determined young man.
Into the Wild Christopher McCandless is a son of wealthy parents which were graduates from Emory University as a top student and athlete. Chris McCandless was seeking into the wilderness to show people he can really do it. Krakauer’s statement was proven to show his actions and support his courageous from living in the wilderness. McCandless wanted to walk to Alaska to start his journey on the hike. His adventure lasted 113 days in the wilderness which turned into something that shouldn’t have happened.
Why I think Chris McCandless is Stupid Into the Wild, a book by Jon Krauker and a film by Sean Penn is a story about Chris McCandless, the son of wealthy parents who graduated from Wilbert Tucker Woodson High School and Emory University. His family expected too much from him and it is possible that one of the many reasons he abandons everything was because of his parents. If I was him I would have moved to a new city, remain distant from family, and start a career instead of going to the wilderness only to die. He didn’t tell his parents of his actions and that’s stupid. Even if he hated them, he should of told them because his parents were worried and they wanted him to succeed. Because of the fact that he made poor decisions, traveled into the wilderness for no good reason, and lacked common sense, I agree with the statement that Chris is completely ignorant.
