Smoke is to inhale and exhale the fumes of burning plant material and especially tobacco. Smoking is a practice in which a substance is burned.
Many people start smoking and making it as a daily habit. One cigarette can lead to addiction. When someone smokes a cigarette they are not only hurting themselves, but others around them. Smoking does many horrible things to the human body that most people are not aware of. Almost everyone knows that smoking causes cancer, and heart disease; that it can shorten your life by 10 years or more; and that the habit can cost a smoker thousands of dirham’s a year. To produce any real improvement in the future existing information as to cause must be studied. The relative contribution of occupational exposure is compared with the importance of cigarette smoking. Relevant information is scanty and has been produced to emphasize the existence of occupational diseases rather than assess their importance to the community as whole. In Britain the evidence is that within the coal mining and iron and steel industries conditions are now such that dust exposure contributes little to the morbidity or mortality compared with the workers' smoking habits.
The facts about smoking must include information not only about the dangerous health effects of smoking, but also about the addictive qualities of cigarettes. If people are aware that it is an addiction they can also be made aware that there are effective ways available to help them quit. Like any addiction quitting smoking can seldom be done without assistance and while nicotine gum may be of some help, some form of therapy is often the answer. We hypothesize that repeated exposure to smoke over an extended period of time will slowly stunt the growth of the plants. We hope to effectively take data that will either prove or disprove our hypothesis that tobacco smoke stunts the growth of plants.

Does tobacco smoke affect the growth of a plant? Our purpose is to discover whether or not tobacco smoke inhibits the development of plants. It is proven that long term exposure to tobacco smoke has a very unhealthy and negative effect on humans, which leads us to believe that tobacco smoke, will have the same effects on plants. If in fact the plants are negatively affected by the smoke, we should be able to observe a reduced rate of plant growth compared to a plant that is not exposed to smoke. Furthermore, the smoke will prevent the growth of new healthier leaves, thus lowering the total leaf count.
