Another heroic civilian was George Walters, a dockyard worker who used a rolling crane positioned alongside the battleship USS Pennsylvania. When the yard was fired at during the beginning of the raid, he valiantly moved his crane back and forth on its track, effectively blocking Pennsylvania from low flying dive-bombers and fighters. Gunners on the Pennsylvania considered the dockworker a nuisance at first, but they soon realized that his 50-foot-high cab gave him an excellent view of incoming zeros. Using the movements of the crane arm, they were able to return fire against the enemy. Walters continued his maneuvers until a Japanese bomb exploded on the dock and sent him to the hospital with a concussion.
Greg Olsen is entering his fifth season with the Carolina Panthers and become the most underrated tight end in the league in my opinion. He has no doubt become old reliable for quarterback Cam Newton to play breaks down or he just needs to find his rhythm. Olsen is coming off his best year as a pro with 84 receptions for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns that productivity resulted in his first Pro bowl selection. 2015 I predict much of the same especially with the loss of Kelvin Benjamin and the sudden inexperience at the wide receiver position. Thank you Chicago Bears for giving us one of the best tight ends in football much
In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.
Into the Wild What would the majority of the population do if the opportunity came up to go into the wild? Chris McCandless not telling anyone where he was going and without necessary supplies was stupid for going into the Alaskan wild. Chris McCandless did not want anyone to know where he was going. The narrator stated, “He announced at his graduation party that he was going away for a while but didn’t say where he was going” (20/20 Documentary). Chris McCandless stated he was going away for a while, however he didn’t tell his parents or his sister where he was going to be or how long he will be gone.

Recently, a named Sgt. Jonathan Whaley preformed a heroic action to reunite a lost animal with its owner. The Alabama officer drove Kai, the lost animal, 770 miles to reunite the animal with its family. The dog’s owner, McKenzie Catron, was killed in a tragic accident, and St. Whaley was the first to arrive as the scene of the accident. The officer learned that a dog was involved, and rescued the animal before bringing him home.
For anyone ever involved in the game at a competitive level, they understand the ultimate goal. “The Show”. Its everything a child brought up playing baseball dreams about. But it doesn 't just happen overnight. For most like Tom Pauly it means giving up most of every summer, and just about every other day of the year.
Representing the wild and wonderful state of West Virginia, Nya Scott, is the current reigning Miss WV High School. Nya’s platform, Get Into Volunteering Eagerly or GIVE, allows her to relentlessly serve her community in many ways. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, marching with area representatives to encourage peace and justice on Martin Luther King day, volunteering as a buddy at "A Night to Shine", a prom for individuals with special needs, or raising awareness for BRAVE (Building Respect And Values for Everyone), the national platform of Miss High School America, Nya is ready and willing to help with a bright smile. People rebel when no justice being served. It is understandable why people act a certain way. Have you ever loved someone more than yourself? A person is your biggest pride and joy to be safe? Can you imagine how it feels to no longer have your pride and joy with in a split second, due to the way they look?
Visual: A large village within the mountains is covered in snow and decorated with lights that is displayed in a snow globe. It is four degrees at night and the snow is falling slowly as it covers the roof of lodge cabins and shops. The snow globe has a mahogany structure around it. The structure holds the snow globe in place; it also has a golden plate with letters on the front. The letters are engraved within the plate, and it reads “Telluride Magazine”.

Hellen Keller overcame her disabilities to become a great author and a lead example to all people with disabilities to show that nothing is impossible. Having no way to communicate or see my surroundings is impossible to imagine and is a great obstacle to overcome especially more than 100 years ago. I would imagine that my life would be completely different with two major disabilities such as Hellen Keller and would be very difficult without a great teacher like Anne Sullivan. I would feel trapped if I were to lose my ability to use language later in life and would not know what to do. I would not be able to talk, see, read or write and that leaves me with no form of communication.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
What would you do if you were faced with the terrifying question of disobeying your aunt or whitewashing the fence and having your aunt be pleased with you, but you would miss the opportunity to play with your friends. Tom Sawyer had to make that very decision for himself in this book. One day, Tom Sawyer got in trouble with his aunt for skipping school and was told to whitewash her fence. While whitewashing, all the school kids were playing games. This made Tom Sawyer upset and irritated.
March 2005, I sat in the passenger seat of my trailblazer staring out the window, trying not to look at my husband, Pedro. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I recalled the words he just said to me. I tried to hold in my emotions so he would not think that my faith has been weakened. I knew God had not put this on our family, but I still had questions and I still wanted answers. The diagnosis changed my world and how I see it.
