In “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, there are two clues interspersed with parallel. One is Eliza escaped from slave traders and another one is Tom was sold down the river, on the main task of the two people narrative. Eliza’s family endured countless hardships and finally to the freedom and happiness. George and Eliza became free for five years, George in a famous factory got a stable job, earn enough money to pay their hard life. He spent time reading and writing in his spare time. The fate of Harry has also been changed, he also had a happy life with his family. In contrast, Tom was sold down the river. Though he also had a glimmer of hope, he cannot got rid of bad luck. In the novels of South and North to escape itself also has a symbolic meaning. According
