Tonya Harding is debatably one of the best figure skaters to have ever skated. She overcame some rough family struggles and money issues. With all of the circumstances being stated, Tonya Hardings “built up” reputation was quickly ruined when she was implicated in the attack of Nancy Kerrigan at the 1994 Olympic trials. Since the 1994 Olympic trials, there have been numerous suggestions as to if she had anything to do with Nancy Kerrigans injury. Tonya is now in her late 40’s and has “moved” on from the scandal. She still wishes that things could have been better but, thinks that her childhood has shaped her to be who she is today. Tonya was born on November 12, 1970 in the city of Portland, Oregon. She is the child of LaVona Golden and Al Harding. Both of the parents did not make alot for money, in fact the family lived in a trailer outside of Al’s mother's house. Stephanie Crowe was 12 years old when she was found murdered. On January 21, 1998 Stephanie's grandma Judith Kennedy woke up to an alarm coming from Stephanie’s room that wasn’t turned off. Judith went to see why Stephanie wasn’t shutting it off. At 6:30am Stephanie Crowe was found murdered in her room, stabbed 9 times. Trina Garrett grew up in poverty in Chester Pennsylvania. Often, she was abused by her father, and would hide in closets and under beds while he beat her mother and other siblings. Trina, and her twin sisters, ran away from home in hopes to escape their abusive father. Because of her past, Trina was treated in a hospital for the mentally ill, but was released early, never allowing her to fully heal. Trina was friends with two young boys, but their mother did not allow them to see her.

On October 6th, 1994 as Nancy Kerrigan was leaving practice in Detroit Michigan, she was attacked by an unidentified man (Oregonian). The man hit her in the right knee with what seemed to be something like a crowbar. The right leg is the leg she uses to land stunts, which eliminated competing until it was healed (jealously). When Kerrigan was taken to the hospital, they identified no fracture, but there was swelling, bruising, and a cut. The doctor told them that it was obvious that this was a clear and purposeful attack.
