EGYPT
The Republic of Egypt is located at the northeast corner of the African Continent and its economy depends mainly on the agriculture, concentrated along the Nile River, and tourism.
The tourism Industry has been one of the motors of Egypt’s economy. In 2010, the number of visitors reached a record of 14 million and the industry was 13% of GDP.

Egypt is the land of one of the most iconic civilizations of the Ancient times. Contributions of the Egyptian civilization have impacted the humanity, as we know it now. The unique and unbelievable architecture techniques that Egyptian civilization developed left us invaluable monuments that amaze and draw people from around the world.

CHALLENGES
In recent years, Egypt has been struggling with political and economical instability and unfortunately has become a target of many terrorists’ attacks, affecting the image of the country. Media and governments of different countries constantly raise warning announcements to prevent from the risk of travelling there. Therefore, the inbound tourism rates dropped dramatically.
Since 90’s Egypt’s tourism industry has declined due to global and local terrorist attacks, such as the Luxor massacre in 1997, the Sinai bombings in 2004, the Terrorist’s attacks in Cairo and in Sharm El-Sheikh in 2005 and the Dahab bombings in 2006.
Other reasons that have affected the Industry lately are the constant protests and marches against the government that result in a large number of deaths, which cause that European countries send travel warnings. Furthermore, global economy situation can impact the Industry, like the devaluation of Russian currency that has affected the Russian tourists, considered a major source of country’s incoming
