When growing up, every child has a different experience. From the way we were raised to the schools we went to and with the teachers we had, we all had a different way of growing up. Similarly though, most children now-a-days are raised watching movies. I know from my own personal experience that watching movies was a huge part of my childhood. Whether it was a rainy day activity, or at a sleepover, I could not imagine my childhood without movies. Two movies that has stuck with me throughout my whole life is Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo. When analyzing both movies, one may notice how similar not only the plot is, but the characters are. Two characters that I will be focusing on specifically are Woody from Toy Story 2 and Nemo from Finding Nemo. For those who may enjoy Toy Story 2 …show more content…
In Toy Story 2, for example, Woody has friends back home at Andy’s that he knows he can rely on. So when he is taken, he knows they’ll have his back and look for him, which they do. On the other hand, Woody also met new friends, like Jessie and Bullseye, who made him better and stronger as a person. In Finding Nemo, Nemo is dealing with the problem of starting school. At the beginning of the movie, he only has his father as a friend, but as the movie progresses, Nemo meets a few friends at school. When he was taken to the dentist’s office, Nemo meets even more friends, like Gill, Peach, Bubbles, and Bloat. These new friends of his help him accomplish his goal of trying to find his way back to his dad, and also show their trust and loyalty by doing so. Both movies display the lesson of true friendship within both characters, and trusting that their friends will be there for them through anything. They both also show that everyone should appreciate each and every friendship that they have because it can be torn from them
Marlin, Nemos dad, raises Nemo alone after the passing of Nemos mother, coral, until Nemo is of age to attend school. As the movie continues to follow the outline of the hero’s journey, the movie comes to the call to adventure, step two of the outline. In the “call to adventure” Nemo is taken by a scuba diver while on a school field
The cliché animal friend who helps her go through the journey appears in Coraline. But it doesn’t matter because the movie still seize mine
Have you ever read the book Towers Falling or Raymond’s Run? The stories Raymond’s Run and Towers Falling are very similar when it comes to the theme of friendship. The main characters Deja in Towers Falling and Squeaky in Raymond’s Run both learn lessons with friendship. A difference in Raymond’s Run is where it teaches you that you can change your attitude toward someone like
Luckily, while searching for Nemo he meets another fish named Dory, who has short term memory loss. Marlin and Dory encounter three nice sharks who believe that fish are friends and not food. Unfortunately, Marlin fights Dory for a scuba mask and it causes her to get a nosebleed. Bruce,
Bluey. But I'm not telling you where he went! And there's no way you're gonna make me” so she grabs him, takes him to the surface forcing him to give in so he doesn’t get eaten by the birds, this shows Dory cutting egos down to size. In the end, Dory is the ultimate catalyst for change in Marlin’s treatment of Nemo; she gets Marlin to realize that he has to stop being so overprotective and let Nemo live a little. These are the five characteristics of a trickster that Dory shows throughout the movie, Finding Nemo
“The Nautilus suffered a collision that cracked one of the engine levers, and it struck this man.” Although we don’t know for sure what caused the collision, we can infer that it was Nemo running into a ship because he was trying to hide it from the rest of the crew. Despite the fact that Nemo still wanted to get his revenge on people from the land, at the end he started feeling remorse and empathy for those he killed in the sinking of the battleship. The text states, “On the rear paneling, beneath the portraits of his heroes, I saw the portrait of a still-youthful woman with two little children. Captain Nemo stared at them for a few moments, stretched out his arms to them, sank to his knees, and melted into sobs.”
Likewise, Depp does so much with only a look. His pasty face and beaming teeth make him look almost like a cartoon character. The child actors are well chosen in both roles, and Peter Ostrum and Freddie Highmore both bring an endearing and memorable quality to Charlie. Ostrum looks slightly older than Highmore, although both were close to the same age when they played the role. The supporting cast-members are excellent and extremely memorable in both
There is a specific scene in the movie where its Nemo’s first day of school, you can tell through the tone of his voice and the facial expressions that he is making that his is very excited to finally be going to school, his dad Marlin on the other had is dreading having his only son go to school. Nemo at one point slips out of the anemone and you automatically see the change of facial expressions in Marlin. He quickly gets up to make sure his son is ok and starts frantically asking him questions, mind you nothing is wrong with Nemo but this the first encounter between the two and you automatically see how protective he is for his son. Another great example of great dialogue and facial expressions is when he finds out that the kids are going to “The Drop-off” with their class. He gets frantic starts making comments like “are you insane?”
Stephen King, a famous writer once said, “Books and movies are like apples and oranges. They are both fruit, but they taste completely different.” Truly, this applies to all movies and books. This quote is effective describing the novel and the movie, A Raisin in the Sun. Although the two share similar scenes and acts, the movie shows a lot more details which make it better.
Movies and dramas are some of the artistic innovations of the human beings. They remind us of the traditional beliefs, customs and the way of life. TV dramas, for instance, are one way of teaching people about their past using an entertaining approach where characters take different roles symbolically to pass a message to the audience. Movies however, make scenes vivid and emotional as they bring a clear picture of what happened using moving images. That said, movies make it easy for one to remember, especially on parts that they find interesting or scarring.
I got from the JotH, “Finding Nemo” was about Marlin learning to let Nemo grow up, and accept his coming of age. Marlin uses help from a fish with short term memory loss(Dory). He learns that he needs to “Loosen up” when it comes to his son. “The call to adventure” was present at the very
Alienation is an experience of being isolated from a group or a society. It is something that affects people everyday at school, work or any social events. The theme of alienation is showed in The Lego Movie when the character tries very hard to meet society’s standards. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 alienation is showed when no one listens or pays attention to the protagonist. The Lego Movie and Fahrenheit 451 does a good job demonstrating the theme of alienation with the usage of character emotions, feelings and society’s standards and labels throughout the movie and the novel.
Into the Wild is a personal tale of Chris McCandless’ journey as he runs away from home to try and live in the Alaskan wilderness. The book follows the story through the eyes of the author as he investigates the mysteriousness of Chris’ life through the eyes of those he came in contact with and the journals left behind. However like every book adapted into movie there are slight differences and characterizations throughout the story that aren’t expressed deeply enough or seen in a different light. Into the Wild is no different.
Marlin no longer watched Nemo’s every move to make sure he was perfectly safe. All of the kids in Nemo’s class were in awe at Nemo’s stories and gained respect for him. Marlin’s ‘prize’ for his return was a closer relationship with Nemo and newfound friendships .From his adventure, Marlin learned that letting go helps to keep people in check. Campbell’s hero’s journey aids in the analysis of Finding Nemo.
So next time, if a teenager wants to go watch a movie, they should watch a movie like Mulan because she is not easily influenced by others, she make sacrifices for others and she also make
