Online learning is a kind of learning activity through computer network. It mainly adopts the way of independent learning and negotiation learning.With the wide application of network teaching in online learning, online learning has the advantages of free time and free space. Online learning has become a new learning way which is very popular among students.The prevalence of online instruction can also be measured as online enrollment as a percent of total enrollment. This percentage increased over three fold from 9.6% in fall 2007 to 32.0% in fall 2011(Allen & Seaman, 2013). This essay uses comparative research method to analyze the similarities and differences between online learning and traditional classroom learning, understand the teaching methods of online learning and traditional classroom learning, and compare which way can make students get better learning results.On learners ' ability to discover and solve problems, to collect, analyze and utilize information, and to train learners to learn to share and cooperate.
There are many features of network learning.One of the characteristics of online learning is the large-scale nature: the meaning of online learning is just like that of its own name. Unlike traditional classroom teaching, there are dozens or hundreds of students in a class. One online course can accommodate thousands of students to participate in learning. The second feature is open. The course of network learning takes interest as the standard of choice.
