Traffic accident in Jordan at 2013 Magnitude ,reasons , Cost and Potential Counter measures *abstract : Like other developing countries in Asia and Africa, traffic accidents In Jordan constitute a major problem because there are increasing in the numbering of population and visitors. they are considered the second leading cause of death . Accident statistics show a relatively low level of traffic safety in Jordan compared to developed countries producing large socio-economic losses. Developed countries in the world have undertaken accident cost analysis. In recent years, road traffic accidents in Jordan have caused a significant and increasing loss in terms of monetary and pain, grief and suffering. but the high level of injury was slight injury with percentage reached to 83% of total injury , followed by serious and fatal injury most casualties (45.38%) were between 18 and 35 years old and females were involved in about 27% of total casualties. This may be attributed to the fact that this age group and males tend to use the road more frequently and are less careful road users. But when we study the relationship between the fatalities and each age group , we find the highest level of fatalities accident in Jordan at 2013 are the age group (0-5) and the elderly people (over 60 ) . this table show the age distribution of traffic accident
