During Kristallnacht (“The night of the broken glass”), 8,000 Jewish businesses were destroyed, 30,000 Jews taken to concentration camps. Almost 2,000 through 2,500 deaths were caused by the terrible events of that horrible night. This tragedy was not only the SS and SA carrying out this persecution but it was met with involvement of many German citizens. German citizens aren’t as innocent as history makes them. Now there were some Germans who opposed to the Holocaust, that were afraid to speak out because Hitler was so powerful at the time.
I believe that many Holocaust survivors felt like justice was not achieved because hatred still exists today and people have not really recognized the same impact that the Holocaust inflicted, among some other reasons. Sadly, jokes are made about the Holocaust and people do not take it seriously. The impact the Holocaust had on the world was extremely profound. It nearly wiped out an the entire population of a race. I believe the reason that people cannot understand the Holocaust's effect on the world is because we are simply told numbers.
We all know that Jewish people were the main targets in the Holocaust, but not many people know that other groups and races. Some groups that were killed are but not limited to: disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people, Roma Gypsies, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Polish People and people of African descent. While Jewish people should be recognized for their struggles, so should every other group. Disabled People Hitler didn’t want to have any disabled people in Nazi Germany. He thought that they were too much work and overall useless to society.
It 's really surprising what the form one person can do to multi-million people and a whole community. This event has really changed many lives. The world 's population could have been twice the number if the Holocaust and WW2 did not happen. This event could have been dodged if people weren 't blind sighted by Hitler 's lies and If Hitler didn 't spread propaganda. Many Jews and others have been killed in this horrible
Like Document one said, they attacked Jews. Jews wasn’t part of their plan to take back Jerusalem. People won’t sign up for a group that will fight because of just anger. Crusaders did many inappropriate things that lost people’s interest like being sidetracked and doing unnecessary things. Even with this reputation, it’s not the only thing they did wrong.
When at war , tribes showed little mercy, killing many women and children. Shocking, right? Secondly cities shrank in size and population. The population mainly shrunk because of the many deaths when Rome was attacked, people also flead from the country of Rome when the attack was going on. Many people were also sick after the war
The irrational destruction of property angered Hermann Goering, not because he thought it was immoral to the Jews, but because the destroyed shops and homes lost a lot of their value. Goering believed that if the owners were alternatively cleared out, Germans would have been much more interested in purchasing the properties. A meeting was then held on the 12th so Goering could explain the negligence of destroying thousands of Jewish properties. Goering decided to issue three laws on the same day as the meeting. One was to force the Jewish owners of the destroyed properties to immediately repair their buildings and pay the price of the repairs.
Many consider bystanders to be as guilty as perpetrators for not doing or saying anything in a time of crisis. Such was the case for the Holocaust. Bystanders during the Holocaust consisted of the civilians and countries who chose to distance themselves from what was really happening, instead choosing to justify the situation, or just not think of it. Many people rationalized, that the idea of self preservation was much more important than sacrificing oneself for the greater good. People also held a sense of indifference towards the suffering of the Jewish people.
Millions of people don’t deserve this. On another history class assignment we were taught, ¨They wanted to isolate and convince them to leave. They acted as though the Jewish people didn't exist.¨ (Anti Jewish laws worksheet in notebook)The Germans should not have any rights to treat anyone like this, killing millions of kids, couples, and families and humans in all. The fact that no other countries tried to help or stop them until later on is terrible. Jews trying to leave to other countries were only accepted if they had the paperwork and money for it and most of the time the countries closed their doors after a certain number of Jews escaped and made it
