The following is an outline of a Transfer Request information regarding the previous school district and the issues that occurred.
Bullying. Several instances involving bullying/harassment that have occurred since grade school and throughout middle and high school has been brought to the attention of school faculty and/ or administration and there was a failure to take any action. This is mostly because the faculty felt that these instances were too minuscule to be further dealt with, however, I believe that they were wrong. Several times I had hateful speech and cursing directed toward me, and even if the student was addressed once or twice, the behavior of the students persisted, and staff fell flat when it came to bringing the issue

Truthfully, I don’t feel welcomed or accepted in Oconto Falls and the time I have spent here has been the cause of a great deal of emotional damage. In several instances, students made derogatory remarks, spread false rumors, etc. that had me in tears. I was usually told to “get over it” or to “tough it up”. As much as it is important for me to be strong, the issues that they’re overlooking, although on their own might not mean anything, accumulated to cause much more damage. These affairs within the school district have triggered the development of major depression and anxiety. Because of this, contemplating suicide is not uncommon. There are few people here that can help with such massive problems, and although many of these issues are being dealt with outside of school, the environment of the school I am at currently is only adding problems and making issues worse when I am trying to recover. Because I struggle with anxiety, one of these is panic attacks. There aren’t very many people that can help with these, but the people that actually can roam Bay Port’s halls every day. Having people that I know and trust with me during the school day would allow me to concentrate and be …show more content…
Bay Port has more class options and a weighted grading scale which would help me achieve a higher GPA by participating in more advanced classes. This also gives me the opportunity to take classes that are more applicable to my future career field. Many programs that are important to me are being cut at Oconto Falls and many of my favorite teachers are losing their jobs. I’m not getting the education I need or deserve and would like to opportunity to receive a better one. Bay Port also has a Christian group that meets weekly and I love that there are resources and groups that aid in my faith growth right at
The movement of New Jersey authority in order to protect students from bullying within the state represents a step forward the children’s civil rights. Bullying is identified not just a harmful action towards students, but also considered as a violation to the rights of the student to be in school. Therefore, New Jersey Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, the one of the toughest Anti-Bullying law in the nation, was created in order to strengthen and overcome the loopholes in the 2002 Anti-Bullying law (U.S. Department of Education, 2011). The Department of education along with the government of New Jersey designed a website that would allow information to be readily available anytime regarding this policy and its regulations statements in order
Over the years we have lost a numerous amount of friends and teachers moving to different schools from
One survey question reads, “If you ever experienced a form of bullying, how did it make you feel? Did you go to someone for help?” One student answered this question by saying, “yes it made me feel really shitty and made me hurt myself. No, I did not go for help, nobody would listen.” This student shows that they chose to not say anything because they feel or know that nobody would listen anyway.
I hate being the new student to new schools. Meeting new friends and new teachers, but I knew this place was not right not teachers or friends it was this school bully they told me. He didn’t care about you lunch money or that I am new but about how I look. He comes towards me and starts making fun of me and people just watching me get bullied and not even caring a thing. After that horrible first day of school, I finally got home and told my mom
Attending a small school for now 5 years, I understand that most kids at my age go to a larger middle school with a graduating class of approximately 200-300 kids in their class, but going to a large school, teachers don 't have time to spend on a specific individual for many things, and I find myself lucky to get that at North Cape. Going through many situations and conflicts at North Cape led me in temporary unfortunate paths, but greatly impacted my reason to try and change to become a more successful individual in my education and life that made a permanent change. It all started 7th grade year, I wasn 't trying, it was as simple as that, until I received a suspension that was for an unnecessary conflict. I then had decided to try and get good grades and do something worth my time and put a smile on my family’s face. Because of the decision I made, things got better and made me feel better as a person, and made me realize I’m not only doing this for my family; I 'm doing it for myself.
I selected Westside Elementary because I wanted to receive the best experience possible, and I had heard nothing but great things about the school. When I first entered the classroom, I was informed that the
Teresa, I transferred to Mascoutah knowing no one. I quickly adapted to my new environment and began to be active in my school community. I performed strongly in all aspects of academics, receiving High Honor Roll every semester of my high school career. I joined Good Vibe Tribe during my freshman year, and it allowed me to help my school in the same way I helped my grade school. I spent time during my advisory and after school hanging up positive messages and sport appreciation posters throughout the school.
Recent statistics state LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) youth are six times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers (LGBTI Health Organsation, 2017) with over 80% of abuse against LGBTI youth occurring in schools (Bully Zero Australia Foundation, 2017). The bullying and violence against LGBTI youth in schools ultimately has a negative effect on the student’s mental health and school performance. This investigation focuses on ‘How supportive are South Australian high schools of LGBTI students? ,’ detailing the policies and programs schools undertake regarding the education of students and teachers on LGBTI issues. Three questions will be used to examine the issue ‘Why do schools need to support LGBTI students?,’ which will ultimately illustrate the effects of students being marginalised and harassed in a “safe” environment.
Okay let’s talk about all the stuff that I suffer from at this current date and time, there’s Depression, ADHD, Dysgraphia, and Hypomania; as you can see I drew the short stick in life’s gifts. But as much as my ADHD has helped with me hating long term goals my depression has definitely made it much worse than it was. So ever since Freshman year I had been determined to know what I wanted to do to my life and with the schools constant “Look at how well you have to do because you come from Fairfax County Public Schools”, I started stressing about this for so long that in my sophomore year I snapped and would end up breaking down emotionally, mentally, and at some points physically all because my mind wanted me dead and my body really didn’t want to put up a fight all due to the fact that I was so screwed up because I constantly had F’s in Math. This would end up with me attempting several times before checking myself into a hospital to try and stop. But as soon as I was back in the school building I started freaking out again at all the work I missed and would relapse again staying in the program longer and deciding I wanted to live life with the least amount of stress
My expectations and outcomes differed heavily in the beginning of my sophomore year of high school, after I had transferred from Bishop McKinney High School a prestigious private school, to George Park a common public school. While at McKinney, I had access to so many things, but I realized I had to do a lot of things alone. I have been enrolled in public schools from elementary through middle school and that is where I made a personal connection with fellow classmates and the faculty and staff. At first, I expected George Park to be disorderly and disreputable, but instead I was astounded by its credentials and diversity, being as it was a public High school.
When I entered third grade I felt some discrimination due to my race since you know how kids are not knowing any better so I didn’t particularly feel good there, this continued on till 6th grade where once in middle school I stayed in the library this was not particularly a good idea for my social skills, I didn’t open up till 7th grade where I joined the school’s choir however it was a bit odd considering since I was still in a emo phase honestly it seems ridiculous as of now, I stayed there till December of 2015 where I moved to the dreaded state of South Carolina, much different from the more liberal area of prior residence. When I came South Carolina I at first attended Macedonia middle school where in which my grades were hurt due to the different curriculums, I never fully adapted to the school, but neither did I have to spend more time at the school because thankfully I was able to transfer to Berkeley Middle in which I stayed for the rest of year, although the graduation was less than luck luster where in comparison to my prior middle school in california where in which students were adorned with a proper ceremony as well as gowns to walk in, which far outshone the simple shake of the hand and walking across
Bullying Essay Did you know that 1in 5 students in the U.S is either a bully or is bullied. This, is why bystanders are bullies. Bullies are worse than bystanders, because there wouldn’t be bystanders without bullies, bullies cause most of the harm, and bullies ruin people’s lives at home by using social media. Furthermore, 15000 students were suspended for bullying.
Bullying has been named an “emerging public health issue requiring intervention” (Ansary, Elias, Greene, & Green, 2015, p. 27). As a major problem in schools around the world, the issue of bullying must be addressed in order to keep students physically and emotionally safe. The act of bullying not only affects the well-being of the person being targeted, but it also affects the rest of the school community too. It can be difficult for teachers, principals, and superintendents to make an ethical decision about what to do when bullying occurs because there are misunderstandings about what bullying is, leading to the improper identification of situations.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
