As of today I am consider as a transactional and a transformational leader because in work I just go to work and make money do what I have to do, but there are sometimes that I must go above and beyond so that our clients that hired us will be satisfied with the work. Same goes for school but I am more of a transformational leader because I do my school work like everyone else, yet I give my time to help my classmates to understand material or I include more things in my work than others. This is why I am considered a transformational and transactional leader because of my actions, and while this is my current leadership model I want to become more of a adaptive leader. The reason I want to become an adaptive leader is because it is part of …show more content…
Also these leaders are tend to be more enthusiastic, and have more energy than others during work and they are more engaged in teams. This leadership style is more my style because I already do these things, and because that is the way I do things at work and in school. As for my ideal model and me wanting to become a police officer my leadership style will have to change into procedural, and this is because I will need to become more strict and learn to follow the rules by the book. Since I will become more of procedural leader I will become more of a follower than a leader, yet I will have better perforcement in completing …show more content…
I choose these values because they are what define me, and because some of my friends tell me that those are my strengths. Over my time in high school, I have obtained most of these values from afterschool programs such as buildOn, JROTC, boxing, photography, and running. These programs helped me start and develop my strengths, ideals, yet many of my values started because of community service and my experience in Burkina Faso, Africa. The few values I must still improve are trust, communication, and teamwork I will improve these values while in college and at work that is where I interact with a lot of people. I will keep improving these values because they’re important to me to become a leader, and that is what I want to employers to see in my resume and

This value is personally meaningful to me because I feel that is important for me to be able to express my originality and to be able to sometimes view the world in an unconventional way. Also, creativity also allows me to be open-minded and curious. 3.

What are values? What values were you raised with? What values were friends raised with? Are they the same or different? Everyone you know has different value, you might have some values that are similar, but never the exact same.
Based on the Keirsey Leadership report, my leadership style is commanding, and one of the representative of the commanding leader is Vince Lombardi. As a football coach, Vince Lombardi always coached players with purpose in his mind, and his purpose was based on discipline. Since Lombardi was the big brother in his family, and both of his parents were disciplinarians, he grew up to be a person with a strong sense of authority and responsibility. Therefore, I think the personality of a person is not only decided by nature, it is also impacted by the environment in which he or she lives. Moreover, I strongly agree one Lombardi Rule mentioned in the article, which is “Don’t just work harder than the next guy.
Adaptive Leadership has two focal strengths relevant to this philosophy and validate its inclusion in this analysis. First, this style, unlike other theories, is follower-centered and leaders provide the tools necessary for followers to grow and as a result, the whole organization grows (Northouse, 2016, p.275). Lastly, Adaptive Leadership provides instructional behaviors anyone can learn that can facilitate positive, adaptive change (Northouse, 2016,
My values include the following: honesty, patience, hardworking, respect, compassion, loyalty and positivity. These values are very important to me because they make up who I am today. Honesty and loyalty allows for a truthful and “clear” relationship with no secrets and hidden agendas; this causes a secure and stable relationship and fantastic memories and experiences. Hard working is important because you always need to be wanting to achieve
The adaptive leadership model was designed to assist organizations and individuals in dealing with consequential changes in uncertain times, when no clear answers are forthcoming. Adaptive leaders identify and deal with systemic change, using techniques that confront the status quo and identify adaptive and technical challenges (Adaptive Leadership, n.d.). There are many strengths associated to this form of leadership style. Adaptive leadership takes a process approach to the study of leadership in which it underscores that leadership is not a trait or characteristic of the leader, but rather a complex interactional event that occurs between leaders and followers in different situations.
And the sets of values I live my life according to are based off of two things: my spirituality and my experiences. I believe that life is also affected by spirituality, and acknowledging that it is, gives purpose to the lives we live. And my life is grounded on certain spiritual beliefs and ideologies, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m not open to other perspectives and views in life as long as it doesn’t go against the beliefs I am grounded upon. My values are also dictated by my past experiences. I have become familiar with the feeling of failure because of sports.

Part One: Personal Values My personal values, in order of importance, are respect, loyalty, fairness, poise, and trustworthiness. Respect is the starting point of each relationship I currently have and my future relationships. I believe that each person deserves respect, to a certain degree, even before you build on that relationship with said person. In turn, giving respect to my peers and subordinates, from the very beginning, should have positive effects on my relationships with these people.
This quality is essential to me in living a life of integrity in my future. My core values are : courage, compassion, confidence , creativity, decisiveness, determination, discipline , efficiency , neatness, family, friendships, forgiveness, fun, generosity, happiness, kindness, love, optimism , religion and trust. Without these values, my life would not have the structure and meaning that I live by.
Self‐leadership theory extends concepts of self‐management.(Manz and Sims, 1980, Manz, 1986; Neck and Houghton, 2006).It is a process to understand one’s own strengths and weaknesses. (Walumba et al., 2008). Also, it is the practice of influencing one’s thinking, feeling and behaviours to achieve goals.(Bryant & Kazan, 2012). The following concepts of self-leadership are reprsenting the therories.
If the behavior theory can identify the key determinants of leadership, people can actually train to become a leader. This is the premise of the management development plan. There are many different types of behavioural leadership styles. Each style suggests that the leadership role is based on the leaders’ concern for the people being led and the level of achievement that needs to be
Transactional Leadership Style The idea of transactional leadership theory was created in 1978 by J.M. Burns and based on Waber’s (1974) theory of leadership along with Kohlberg’s stage of moral growth (Sciotto, 2014). Transactional leadership style describes more on a “give and take” relationship as referring to the exchange relationship between leader and follower, in order to fit their own self-interests as a consequence of meeting particular objectives (Bass, 1985, 1990; Burns, 1978; Lai, 2011). This style of leadership will motivate their followers by focusing on changing and promises rewards when their followers able to carry out the specified tasks (Abdullah et al., 2014; Pedraja-Rejas, Delgado-Almonte, Rodriguez-Ponce, & Rodriguez-Ponce,
