Food is one of the most important aspects in our lives. Food isn’t just about eating the food, food is more about sharing ideas and socializing. Thomas Jefferson’s philosophy about food and self-sufficiency is shown in many ways throughout the Declaration of Independence. His eclectic views on food and his obsession with the pursuit of freedom and independence is shown in the Declaration of Independence and is the foundation of the United States today. The Declaration painted a vivid picture of the self made man, who has freedom, and has a variety of choices. After much deliberation, Jefferson wanted to emancipate not only himself but intercede on behalf of all colonial settlers with the same freedoms that he dreamt of. Jefferson exposed the tyrannical acts of England so that he could create the image of the self-sustained man through the writing of the Declaration of Independence. This self-sustained man shows how growing his own food provides more than just sustenance, it provides freedom.
I am a Mexican American me as living in America my whole life i need to know their culture and understand their traditions. It 's important for everyone to get a chance and learn about other races and ethnicity. By learning about others this helps people come together and be united. We all have different backgrounds and stories of how our ancestors got here and what traditions they brought with them that we still use that we can share with others. Diversity is good we get to learn a lot from different races and ethnicity because it gives people a chance to experience different things other than what they are accustomed to. It 's like traveling when you get to taste a different food and listen to different music that kinda makes you feel
“We’re going where? For how long? But why?” I said. It was the summer before seventh grade when my mom told me that we would be going a trip. I continuously repeated these three questions until she finally looked up and answered me. However, what I heard was not what I expected as I quickly started to argue with her as I refused to go along on this trip she was planning.

In the essay “On Habit” by Alain de Botton and “Possible World: Why Do Children Pretend?” by Alison Gopnik, both of the authors indicate that humans develop mental maps to organize knowledge of the location and characteristics of the environment to get going experience. Gopnik writes that once people have mental maps in their mind they can find shorter and more convenient routes they could have taken. Using mental maps to organize experience help people be efficient, because it offers people direct information and solutions. However, de Botton ‘s idea is that how people feel when they walk on the street is much important than how fast they can be their destination. He suggests that people should forget their everyday surroundings from their memory, and try to absorb new things in
There is an old Moorish proverb that reads, “He who does not travel, does not know the value of man.” That quote resonates deep within me because I have a yearning to use my education to empower those in need. In order to do so, I need to see and experience the world outside of the one I am accustomed to. Curiosity is one of the traits that define the person that I am; because of this trait I always ask questions about the world around me and the people I meet. This is one of the driving forces behind my desire to venture outside of the United States to learn a new language and culture. As a recipient of the Gilman Scholarship, I aim to study the French language in Paris, France through the four-week Intensive French program offered by Florida
Traveling around the world has always been viewed as experience and luxurious. Therefore, only those who are rich can experience it. Of course traveling has become a norm as millennials discover the benefits of it. On the other hand, in Derrick Fung’s “How Millennials Are Changing Travel”, article he asserts that millennials thrive for experiences and are influenced by social media to travel. And how the traveling industry is booming due to it. Both articles persuade millennials to travel and seek adventure despite the hardship with the economy.
In the essay, “ Why We Take Pictures,” the author Susan Sontag states that photography is not only a simple tool for seeking pleasure but can also be used against anxiety and as tool of power. Sontag emphasises the importance of photography during traveling by stating the anxieties that people can face if they are not taking pictures. First, Sontag points out that people feel disorientation in a new place the uncertainty of what the new place will be like can cause people to panic. However, taking picture enables people to have certain control over the new environments the fact that one knows where he or she is at and where he or she has been, helps individuals cure their anxieties. Second, Sontag indicates that anxieties during traveling can also be caused by the guilt of not being at work. The feeling of doing nothing while traveling frequently caused anxiety for people who are used to their daily work routine; taking pictures while traveling offered people a sense of purpose when they

Learning a second language has many lifelong beneficial other than just understanding the language itself, mainly if learned at a young age. Learning a second language can be done more efficiently as a young kid, and can open up many doors for later in life while being mentally advanced. When it comes to learning a second language, the younger you start the easier you will begin to learn your second language. Younger brains learn much easier than older brains because the brain is designed for language learning to take place between birth and adolescence (the period following the onset of puberty during which a young person develops from a child into an adult). The brain is much more accepting
From 1914 to the present, air travel has been one of the greatest ideas men has ever thought about. What’s better than traveling around the World in just a few hours? Is there something better than air travel? I’m not sure you can argue with that. However, on the other hand, I can argue with many things about traveling. For instance, could be easier in the future to travel by making it less stressful before boarding to the aircraft because you're running late to the gate? When you fear in the air because you think the airplane is going to crash, or for seating in the aircraft for too long. In this case, currently, these are the reasons why airlines and people must do to improve the future of air travel by creating a better atmosphere around

Most people dream about sudden trips to exotic lands or planned voyages to previously familiar locations, but what is it that drives us to seek to leave our home? Why is it that we travel, even if we are completely comfortable in the country we live in? Pico Iyer, in his travel essay titled ‘Why We Travel’ states different reasons why he believes we seek the unknown. One of the points he claims that we travel for the “self and anonymity”. As he expands on this idea, it is clear to the reader that Iyer believes one of the reasons we travel is to be able to be “free of caste and job and standing” in order to better comprehend ourselves. In a different environment where no one can really put a label on you, especially if you are alone, it is probable that certain issues or aspects of one’s personality, which would have otherwise remained dormant, manifest themselves, allowing you to be “born again”. In this situation, you don’t live in the past or the future, but in the present where it is almost impossible for you to ignore your inner self, biases, values, and opinions.
