The founder and director of the Joseph S. Murphy Institute, Greg Mantsios has provided thousands of students with an opportunity to earn a college degree, by helping non-traditional students particularly poor and from working class backgrounds obtain college degrees. Mantsios has made his institute as a center for conducting research, organizing public form and publishing educational material. Such as his essay "Class in America-2006" where he discusses the profile of three individuals of the upper class, working class, and lower working class societies. Jane Addams was born on September 6, 1860, in Cedarville, Illinois. She was best known as the founder of The Hull House, a community center located in one of Chicago 's poorest neighborhoods. The Hull House opened its doors to recently arrived European immigrants. In 1912 the Hull House was completed with the addition of a summer camp, the Bowen Country Club. With its new social, educational, and artistic programs, Hull House became the standard bearer for the movement that had grown, by 1920, to almost 500 settlement houses nationally.

The literature will show the importance of the laws that enabled students with disabilities to attend college with accommodations to ensure access both in and out of the classroom. Throughout the review, persistence and retention, as well as contemporary issues of interest, will be examined more closely, particularly by comparing four year institutions to two year institutions (community colleges). Another important factor to be examined will be the role of transitioning into higher education both for the general student population and students with disabilities. In addition, student development theories and their impact in identifying strategies that are important for increasing persistence/retention during students‘ first year of study will be explored. Junior year first semester,I have grown as a Glpo student by introducing myself to new learning environments. I have taken the step of challenging myself by taking advance classes during and after school. Furthermore I’ve have been able to to grow through my my American literature job shadow and college research assignment in various ways. This semester so far has allowed me to gain a new perspective on how life after high school works and learn the skills I need to succeed. By reflecting upon personal, work and school experiences, this paper has provided evidence of my personal progress since the beginning of my bachelor. Using a critical reflective approach has allowed me to recognize my mistakes and lacks of and reflect on them as well as learning how take advantage of my strengths. This college is located on a 150 acre campus and is over a hundred years old! The college was started and founded by the Presbyterian church in 1899. The entire student body is around 1,400 with over 30 different majors available. The college also offers a variety of extracurricular activities including sports teams,clubs, student government, and musical opportunities.
Catlin College is located in Zenith, Polis with a population of 52,500. Founded in the 1930’s to meet the educational needs of Zenith and Sullivan Valley, Catlin College was a two-year Junior College division of Ivy University. In the 1940’s, the Junior College became Catlin College, a four-year institution. Catlin College became independent and accredited in 1951 and offered graduate programs for the first time in the late 1960’s.
Binchley College is a four year, private institution that was chartered in 1805. It is off the Eastern Shore of Virginia and was the first college in the nation to provide undergraduate degrees in Native American studies and marine ecology. Students learn foundations in arts and sciences for the first two years of school, and then focus on their major for the remaining two years. In my study group are my two friends, Porter and Alyssa. I know Porter from high school and I know Alyssa from ballet, so both member of my study group are former friends. We meet on Thursday nights after dinner. We started this study group about a month ago, so we’ve met four times so far.
