As the sun sets on the Hollywood sign and the warmth surrounds me, I know I came to the right place. If I could visit anywhere in the world, it would be the west coast. I would visit California for the breathtaking scenery, the exhilarating activities, and the appetizing food. California offers many things to do, places to see, and plenty of food to eat. The things to do are endless! First off, I would visit California for it’s scenery. The waves crashing on the beaches, the sizable malls, and the prominent Hollywood sign. While you visit the beaches, you could encounter many dogs at the pet friendly beach in Santa Cruz. You could even fall asleep to the waves as you sink your toes into the warm sand at the many campgrounds. Or you could visit the enormous malls located all over California. As you stroll through the mall you could stop at one of the many restaurants. There are many places to see, but one of the most famous to see is the Hollywood sign in all of its glory! The sign stands tall, while it overlooks the city with you. Even though there is much more to see in this wonderful state, these are just a few of my favorites to visit. Secondly, California has way too many activities to …show more content…
California has many places that serve Boba Tea. If you do not know what Boba Tea is I will explain because it can be found in a lot of stores in California. Boba Tea contains a tea base which comes in black tea, white tea, and green tea mixed with a fruit or milk. Tapioca balls, sometimes called fruit jelly, are added to the mixture at the end. Another popular drink is their wine. There are many wineries all around California. The wineries are absolutely gorgeous and as you walk around and explore, you sip on their delicious wine. As for a treat, ice cream is a good way to go. There are a lot of ice cream parlors because who doesn 't love a cold treat on a warm day, which is
Tea is one beverage in particular that would have to represent India. Tea helped to grow India’s economy and created an ample amount of jobs. In the late 1700’s, Britain was reluctant to trust China to supply them with tea. The head of the East India Company, Lord William Cavendish Bentinck, had the idea to grow tea in India which would benefit Indians and the British. This would create many jobs for Indians.
David Brooks makes many good points in his article, and I agree with what he says and can relate many of my personal stories to him. Many of us want to live with people like us, and many of us want to be with people that are like us. At the beginning Brooks mentions how diversity isn’t cared by many, and he’s right. Before moving to California I heard that this was a place where many people came from all over the world to live better lives, so I thought it would be a nice place to meet new people. At first my family wanted to move to Berkeley and we were looking at neighborhoods that were cheap to live in, we liked many neighborhoods, but a few friends of my dad who had lived there told us that those neighborhoods had many blacks and hispanics
This dish is a perfect San Diego dish because it truly shows the rich Mexican culture along with the California twang. The fish taco is special to San Diego because of its closeness to the ocean. Sam Diego is in California so its going to have a beachy feel everywhere and the fish taco fits the description of beachy. The other famous dish of San Diego is sushi burrito, another example of mixing culture with seafood.

I served my two years in what was called the Great California Ventura Mission. What an experience it was for me to labor and work in such a beautiful part of our country. The weather on average year round was about typically 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This is due to the ocean breeze that cools the desert landscape to become a paradise.
The State of California v. George Milton Dear ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I ask you to do one thing, imagine. Imagine you were in a foreign country with no money, friends, or possessions. Imagine you cannot speak the language and the culture is completely different than your natural environment.
California was born in the middle of many issues of conflict. Crisis over slavery, political legitimacy, and conflict over land, labor, race and ethnicity ( Competing Vision 132 ).During the mid 1800’s California saw many transformations, some positive some negative. There was a slow reservations development for Indians, but a better established land ownership. With certain political figures, who rallied to remove laws, which discriminated against African Americans and rather high religious tolerance, California was taking a distinct shape.
The state of California has a rich history, and is also currently one of the leading states in agriculture. It contains a wide array of geographic features, varying from mountains to deserts, with lush, fertile farmland in between. The Mexicans fought to gain control of California from the Spanish, but soon lost it to the European settlers. When war erupted between Mexico and the settlers for control of California, the end result was California gaining Statehood with the United States. The Gold Rush of 1949 brought unprecedented prosperity.
Along with the inside of the planetarium being one of the most popular attractions in southern California, the scenery around it is one of the most beautiful. The Observatory is the best vantage point for viewing the Hollywood Sign. The Observatory is one of the most famous and visited landmarks in southern California due to its unique architecture and setting, the programs
Traveling from all over the world numerous people come just to see the Hollywood sign, the Hollywood walk of Fame, and Universal Studios Hollywood. On the contrary, Pennsylvania is rich in History being that it is one of the original 13 colonies. Also, where the constitution and the declaration of independence was written and signed. The California gold rush was something that got our country’s back then. In 1848, James Marshall had discovered gold in California right along the American River. Once people found out about it, they started moving to California in hopes of finding gold as well. I was one of those people who decided to venture there hoping against all doubt and be one of the lucky few to find any. It took me a few months to save up money to go on the trip to California but once I did, I began my journey.
A little more east of the big city and you can visit the beautiful beach of Galveston. If you’re not feeling that beach, hit the road again and travel down to Corpus Christi, where you can visit the Padre Island beaches. See some turtles and dolphins at the Texas State aquarium. If you’re feeling hungry, grab some grub at the first ever Whataburger on Ayers Street, the white and orange stripes are hard to miss!
Beyond the money and businesses the rush of people brought, the growth in population enabled the territory of California to officially become a state. On
Throughout history, there have been many changes pertaining to what is now called California. From Spain, Mexico, and the United States each country added their own ideas and culture blending them all the way. Once Mexico claimed this land from Spain they had to create their own identity. The Mexican government wanted to erase Spain’s influenced around the land. With the secularization of the missions it opened up many different avenues such as free trade, and colonies of immigrants they were not expecting.
When I went back to visit the Grand Canyon a few years ago I did this, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. 3. Another thing that you can do is of course Whitewater raft. This takes a bit of planning and takes all day to go down the stretch of the Colorado River, but it comes highly recommended. 4.
