On October 5th, as we went to Tripler Army Medical Center, I was placed in the Imaging ward. I got to see all the different types of imaging machines such as Ct scan, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. I observed the nurses doing these with some patients. The first patient had to do a CT scan to see what was wrong with their breathing, they had dyspnea. When the nurses was finished looked over it, they sent the images to the doctors so they could say what was the problem. Another patient was doing an ultrasound to see her bladder because she had her period for a long time. The nurses helped her and told what was going on. The most interesting imaging was the Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It was really scary at the same time but I found
I responded to Troy Regional Medical Center in reference to an assault call. Upon arrival, I made contact with Roseline Jackson in room 9. Jackson stated that her and her baby daddy got into a physical altercation around 13:00 on this date. Jackson stated that she was picking their son up from Bean mother house and that’s when Bean asked to borrow her car. Bean got mad because Jackson wouldn’t let him use it.
With these patients come high emotional roller-coaster, wanting to know as much as possible. As a soon to be Sonographer we are taught not to relay any information we view. Not even at the slightest bit. Sonographers act under the direction of

A doctor had brought a bunch of puppies to the surgery enter. My dad saw them and knew that my family was eventually going to get a puppy, so instead of talking to my mom, he texted my sister and me. My dad got a doctor to pick us up and take us to the surgery center. When we got there we saw the puppies and immediately loved them.
Before taking this class, I had never seen a CT scan or machine before. I chose to take an on-site visit for this project because of that fact. I visited the Dodge City Medical Center for my on-site visit. While there I was able to see many different things that I had never seen before. I saw many different CT scans specifically for this class, but I was also able to see an ultrasound of the abdomen.
The stories people told were truly amazing and seem like once in a lifetime experience. In my time in Portland I would hope to experience as much as possible ranging from intensive care to surgery or whatever may come through the door. Being interested in the medical field I would like to get as much exposure to it as possible. I have been exposed to the EMS section but have yet to experience the daily routine of a surgeon or nurse, and with experiencing something like that I may find that to be the specific field I would be interested in when I reach hiring
In August of 2011 I found out that my mother had breast cancer. She and my father sat my older brother and I down and broke the news to us. I was stunned, shocked, fearful, and confused all at the same time. I was only in the eighth grade, so I did not completely understand all the ramifications this would bring to my family and me however, I did understand that word…. Cancer.
On September 8, 2008 I arrived to the hospital at six o 'clock in the morning to get induced to have my first daughter due to a blood clot I had in my leg. The nurses first told me to change into a gown. Shortly after they hooked me up to the monitors to hear the baby moving all around. Also to track her cute little heartbeat. Another one was to monitor my contraction and watch them on the screen.
I also had the opportunity to enter the procedure room and observe the doctor whilst he undertakes an eye/contact lens exam on each patient.
1) Please share an experience of a traumatic event or dynamic that you, or someone else, experienced. Last year my uncle died of cancer. The past couple of years he has been battling cancer, it was tough to see him go but I’m glad he’s not suffering anymore.
The lady then looked at the paper and realized it was wrong and started to laugh and said “ I am so sorry I wrote the wrong one down.” I knew that if I didn 't notice the papers they would have done surgery on my right knee instead of the left knee. I was moved to another room where other people were surrounded by nurses getting prepared for surgery. The moment I was stationed in my room I was surrounded by different nurses. There was the anesthetic nurse, the head nurse, the assistant nurses and even the nurses that are in training.
The video "Patient Perspectives" brought to me memories of when I was a patient. When I was in the hospital for a little over a month, I received great care from nurses, but especially from Dr.Monserrat. Like the testimony on the video, "I will never forget her". I was greatly inspired by my experience. Now that I am on the opposite role, it makes me realize the trust the patients give us, and the responsibility that I have as a student nurse and as a future nurse.
After many years of praying endlessly, almost habitually, for my grandmother to get better, that there was nothing else she wanted, but to go be with her Father. On February 11th 2004 my dad told us that Grandma was going to stop her dialysis treatments and that we needed to go to Berne and be with her for a while. We got to my grandparents’ house and greeted all of my family. Every cousin, aunt, uncle, and significant others for those who were dating. Everyone was there to see my grandma.
I asked my mom why I was coughing up blood. She said that they doctors did not know why I was coughing up blood. My doctor came in about ten minutes later with a clipboard. The clipboard was full with papers. I didn't think i have ever seen that many papers in one spot at a time.
Did you know every human body has 206 bones? Instead of having 206 bones, I have 206 ½ now. This is definitely a story I was never going forget about, with all the pain, tears, and laughs involved. In P.E. one day in 8th grade, for our unit we played basketball.
