Some people thought he was a thug/gansta, but if you really know anything about him or have heard or read any of his music/poems it is very evident that he was an extremely smart, artistic man that was just trying to be a warrior for all the people that could not be heard. He wanted to be a voice for the black community/ghettos around the United States. He grew up with a single parent with multiple siblings; just getting food on the table was a daily struggle.
