Fossil fuels have a devastating effect onto the environment, and with many countries using fossil fuels as their main source of energy. There would be many consequences, that we would not be able to recover from. These consequences would not only effect our environment, but there would also be an effect on our health and on our wildlife. But these consequences could be prevented if we act fast. Initially, many people have been depending on fossil fuels as there is a plentiful supply that is not only easy to obtain but also easy to be transported.
Unlike other renewable sources it is not responsible for the leaking of fossil fuels or harmful substances leaking into the atmosphere. Tidal energy has many benefits as a source of energy. It is on of the most predictable forms. A downfall would be the cost, also more research must be put into it
Why wind energy? The majority of electricity is generated by burning coal, rather than more eco-friendly methods like hydroelectric power. This use of coal causes untold environmental damage through CO2 and other toxic emissions. The energy sector is by far the biggest source of these emissions, both in the India and globally, and if we are to tackle climate change it is clear we need to move away from burning limited fossil fuel reserves to more sustainable and renewable sources of energy. 1.2 BENEFITS OF WIND POWER: Wind power has many advantages that make it a lucrative source of power for both utilityscale and small, distributed power generation applications.
Since fossil fuels are our main source of electricity production and are in large need for other things like transportation and the manufacturing of plastics, fossil fuels have become increasingly available. The extraction and refining processes have become so well developed that extracting these fuels has become a very easy procedure; it is also very cheap and even though reserves are
Furthermore, the world will adopted the conventional resources because of the rapid depletion of fossil fuel and it is also difficult to use these resources for production of electricity. While, the use of conventional resources has a positive effect on the environment and use this energy resources for production of electricity is a key source for future generation. 1.2 ENERGY CLASSIFICATION:- The energy can been classified into several types:- a) Primary and Secondary sources:- Primary energy resources are those energy resources which are used directly as appear in the environment like coal, oil, natural gas and wood etc. The other primary resources are nuclear fuels (uranium) in
Burning fossil fuels is harming planet Earth, without the existence of this planet no human would have lived the life we are taking for granted. Planet Earth is providing us with scarce resources some are renewable and some are non-renewable. Fossil fuels are non-renewable and are very useful however they are causing pollution, which is resulting in Global warming. Burning fossil fuels can be done in more than one way for example the cars we drive everyday to get us transported or all the industries that are releasing smoke from their chimneys. Industry owners are against the fact of burning less fossil fuel, as they will lose profit.
The ozone layer is being destroyed because of the excessive emissions of carbon dioxide. Renewable energy sources will lessen the demand for fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are not only used to supply energy to heat our homes. “[The oils] are also used to make medicines, cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fabrics, and lubricants” (NMoga). If renewable energy resources are not utilized soon, future generations will not have the raw materials needed to manufacture products other than energy.
Problems and proposed sustainable solution Thermal power plants use a lot of sources (usually include coal, diesel or natural gas) for electricity production (Hina Fathima et al, 2014). The principle of work of thermal power plants is that a steam drives a steam turbine, which is connected to electrical generator. However, the problem is that such plants contribute to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, bad air quality causes human health problems and greenhouse gas emissions lead to global warming. Moreover, use of conventional energy sources leads to depletion of fossil fuels and waste generation (ibid).
And the power produced is huge, the largest of them generate electricity that is enough to power on 600 houses in the U.S. The functioning costs are low. But these wind powers also have disadvantages as, wind is unpredicted so the availability of electricity produced from wind power is unpredicted. Their manufacturing needs lots of time and their installation is not easy it requires heavy investments. The noise is a huge problem, as the blades spin they produce sounds that are really load and noisy, that why they are not installed in a city, mostly they are in desserts and places where people don’t live.
With the innovations and inventions of technologies, there are numerous sources of energy in the world which is environmentally friendly. With development, there are many sources of energies in the world today, however because of the above stated advantages, non renewable natural resources are still being used today in many parts of the
