ABSTRACT
Background: Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is the gold standard treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Compared to open prostatectomy, TURP is associated with less morbidity. Despite this, limited availability and affordability are major drawbacks to its utility of TURP in our setting.
Objective: The objective of this paper is to share our initial experience with the use of TURP.
Methodology: The records of all patients

PATIENTS AND METHODS
The records of all patients who underwent transurethral resection over a period of 20 months (April, 2013 to November, 2014) were retrieved. Informed consent was routinely obtained from all the patients, before the procedure. Patients demographics, pre-operative and post-operative clinical and laboratory details, intra- and post-operative details, follow up and outcome were extracted.
Routine cystoscopy was done in in all patients, and TUR was carried out using 26 FG Karl Storz continuous flow sheaths with a 30 o. 3% Glycine set at a height of 1 metre above the patient’s heart was used for irrigation. A size 24F silicone urethral catheter was passed after the procedure and irrigation commenced.
The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics.

These obvious advantages notwithstanding, it remains largely unaffordable to the bulk of the poorer patients. These findings however, remain to be verified with a prospective, long term study involving a larger number of patients.

Next, they traced the external jugular vein and its tributary veins on the surface of the right side of the neck and head. On the left side where the sternomastoid was cut, the students then located the deeper vessels running alongside the trachea, internal jugular vein, and the common carotid artery. In the abdominal cavity, the groups then exposed and studied the hepatic portal vein and its tributaries. They then identified the tributaries of the post cava, the renal, adrenolumbar, iliolumbar, iliac, and caudal vessels. The arteries of the gonads then came off the abdominal aorta cranial where the spermatic arteries were found.
While screening tests are tremendously vital and have proved life-saving on countless occasions to ensure that individuals do not unknowingly have a certain disease, they are not always necessary. For example, this is seen in the screening test for Prostate cancer, called the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test. As of today, the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) does not universally recommend that men get screened for Prostate cancer. The USPSTF is an important and relevant organization to follow for screening guidelines because it works to improve the health of all Americans through striving to make accurate, up-to-date, and relevant recommendations about preventative services in primary care.
During my clinical preceptorship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, many patients that came into the hospital with urinary retention a catheter was inserted to determine the amount of urine in their bladder or post-void residual (PVR). Many patients later developed pain and a urinary tract infection or Community Acquired Infection secondary to frequent cauterization. Therefore, the gap identified was related to a knowledge deficit of the current practice that inserting a

The condition is also typically associated with asymptomatic urethritis when it is transmitted sexually and may eventually lead to a gradual unset of testicular pain, tenderness, dysuria and urethral discharge (Uphold & Graham, 2013). Chronic epididymitis is characterized by symptoms lasting for greater than six weeks (Uphold & Graham, 2013).

Introduction The twentieth century was a period introducing many breakthroughs in medicine. Large part of the medical discoveries and newly developed procedures of the mentioned time are influencing the illness treatment even today. The role of this paper is not to make an extensive overview on those discoveries but to focus the attention on the changes that occurred in the field of surgery. Typical surgical procedure involves the incision of the body in order to treat desired part leading to a lot of pain, possible blood loss, infections, scars, and long convalescence. The consequences mentioned might occur in even higher degree if the considered case is internal surgery.
Many African American men are hesitant to work alongside social workers in this area, because of the cost of treatment (Ahaghotu, 2015). The cost of treatment is extremely expensive, and can be life altering for African American males with prostate cancer (Ahaghotu, 2015). This is a large issue that is impacting direct practice with this population. These clients are aware of how much each visit is to see the healthcare team. The rising costs are constantly on their mind with each visit.

INTRODUCTION In the United states(U.S) hospital care is the largest component of the health services which accounts for about 31% of all money spent on health care in 2005 (Catlin et al. 2005; AHA 2006).Contemporarily, enormous use of limited facilities by patients is the supplementary issue of the diverse mixture of hospitals, patients, market settings and financial resources have compromised the health care providers to strike a balance between efficiency and quality.(Woolhandler, and Himmelstein,2004; Coulter et al. 2000). A mix of public and private organization’s hospitals in the US in which Not-For-Profit (NFP) and For-Profit (FP) institutions are found. Healthcare organizations can begin either like FP or NFP.
