Thesis: The Tuskegee Airmen were a prestige group of African American men who were determined to go above and beyond their call of duty for their country and their race. I. Abraham Lincoln did a lot for racism in the United States, but he did not get rid of racism altogether.

Patton held a variety of jobs in Hawaii and Washington D.C, and convinced the U.S that they needed a more forceful and threatening striking force.

Characters in stories sometimes follow a theme when it comes to their traits. These traits are called archetypes. Archetypes can be as simple as a villain or hero. They can also be used to portray unfathomable human characteristics that exists in everyone. Characteristics such as greed, lust, envy, pride, sloth, and gluttony are examples.

Courageous Boo In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, there are several courageous character, but Boo Radley definitely has the most. Courage is the quality of mind or spirit that empowers a person to face difficulty, danger, and pain without fear. (dictionary.com) Boo is a mysterious character in To Kill a Mockingbird. He rarely comes out of his house and when he does we usually don’t realize he is there. So when he does come out of his house he is being courageous.

In the early 1930s, in the deep south, racial discrimination was a huge conflict, for example, the Jim Crows Laws were in play, and it legalized segregation between blacks and whites. Courage isn’t always shown in situations, but simply throughout growing up.
Showing courage is taking risks, knowing the outcome might not be what you want. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, courage is displayed by many characters. The importance of showing courage is letting the audience of the book know anyone can have courage. For example, Atticus was able to defend a black man, not knowing what people would to him. While Scout stands up for herself, having no idea how Aunt Alexandra will react.
Character traits help shape a person into what they are, there are ways to change them and become a better person. In the short story Charles, written by Shirley Jackson, a boy named Charles possessed many different negative character traits in which some include being, obnoxious, dangerous, and disrespectful. Charles displayed immature and unnecessary trouble for all the students and teachers. Being obnoxious means extremely unpleasant and Charles was just that in this short story. Charles possesses the trait obnoxious because all the children in the class were trying to listen to the story while the teacher would be unable to read due to the noise.
