Eighth graders,
Your mind is still developing therefore a lot of tings you hear see can still effect you. Now in the eighth grade I know you don't watch educational shows or history movies on your free time; I know you may be into a more sketchy genre of movies, TV shows, music, etc. Those things affect you believe it or not. From the way you dress to the way you talk most of those things came from what you saw on television. Not everything effects you in a bad way; and not everything effects you in a good way. But it still effects you.
You may be in denial about it but its true, nothing is wrong with it. Half of our trends today come from TV. You may be watching MTV or BET and see your favorite rapper or singer wearing a shirt you may like it so you go buy it. That's an clear example of you being effected by TV. It may not seem like it at the moment but sure enough...it is. The effects on young minds from television has its pros and cons. People look more into the cons because they have become more of a problem over time. Another example, you may be on MTV or BET and see your favorite rapper again but

Some things on television can enhance your knowledge as far as your vocabulary and it can keep you updated on world news. It teaches you new things everyday. I know for a fact no one in here watches the news faithfully but there are other things that can keep you updated through. There shows about the latest trends and all. TV can enhance the way you talk also, people also call it slang but honestly its not a bad thing if your using it in the right place at the right time. You can be watching something on TV and learn something new. I admit there are more cons than pros but you can still enjoy yourself when watching TV. Just be safe and watch things appropriate for an average 13 or 14 year old to watch. You might be going through changes with puberty; but trust me your not an adult. Therefore, do things that are age
In the articles "The Box that Changed America" and "Television Transformed" by Lauren Tarshis we ask why how did the tv impact americans culture. The first thing the tv impacted in americans culture is that the tv brought people together. "Tv was becoming a powerful cultral force that brought americans together." (Tarshis 21) The tv brought us closer because tv shows made us relate with eachother.
Overall, yes having so many TV shows to choose from is making our nation and our families more divided, because it also came along with new technology which gave people a way to watch TV where and whenever they want to. In the Paired texts “The Box That Changed America” and “Television Transformed” by Lauren Tarshis it
I think that we should keep the 8th grade graduations. Graduation for the 8th grade is a big milestone in teens lives, because it means they 're going to high school. I think that it also lets people get the chance to expand a skill of theirs like (for me) art, since they can get awards for things like that, and a few other things. My opinion on the 8th grade graduations, are that they are pretty cool (even though they are long).
No, due process does not violate the fourteenth Amendment of United Stated Constitution in regards to after school detention because the discipline does not “derive any person of life, liberty, or property” (U.S. Const Amend. 14). Detention means “the withholding of what belongs to or is claimed by another” (Dictionary.com). In reference to school discipline procedure a detention is withholding the claim of release from the institution of education set forth by the state’s department of education for minor infraction.
Pros and Cons of Year-Round Education Kionna Roney Getting Started with Sixth Edition APA Style This paper will discuss the topic of year round schooling and the positive and negative perspectives of the subject. A traditional school calendar in the United States of America provides 180 days of instruction and a prolonged summer vacation that is roughly three months long. While trying to raise success, reduce costs, or better serve their communities, many schools have altered the traditional school calendar. Year-round education (YRE) programs (also called modified calendars or balanced calendars) do not extend the amount of time students are in school, but rather distribute the 180 school days more evenly throughout the year.
Middle school is a very different time, a time to start discovering yourself. Many people figure out what makes them truly happy, or what they want to do with their life during this time. It’s also the road to high school, the last stop of your standard American education. As a middle school graduate, I’ve dealt with all the ups and downs, all the A+’s and the C-’s, all the old and new friends, and all the choosing of classes. Electives are the time to have something you enjoy in school, to pick what makes you happy, but also what will help you later.
Thinking logically, the people focus on television so much in this society because they do not have the
Some of the thing on television included the news, political speeches, dramas, sitcoms, and cartoons. The television was a way to get news to lots of people in a very short amount of time. Peter Weller once stated, “Television is an isolating experience, sadly enough. But as good as it ever gets, it’s still isolating. You sit in your home and visit with no one.” Staring into the television screen, zoned out and mesmerized, our minds are living the life of the characters in the movie or TV show. In today’s society, people obsess over there shows instead of there family, friends, and children.
With the undeniable truth, everyone must age and grow older. Although this is a natural process of life, not everyone is accepting of this. At this age, being an older adult you face difficulties such as aging, sexuality, relationship dynamics and having to face reality that you are not in your prime as you once were. Heart attacks, strokes, and other ailments are examples of this. However, just as there younger counterparts they still able to do somethings they were able to do in their earlier stages.
Neil Postman in Chapter 1 of "Amusing Ourselves to Death" aims to show how the television can manipulate a person 's decision in politics, religion, education and turn those into entertainment. Even today Postman’s ideeas stand strong and it is true that if an information is entertaining the viewer will not look at the autenticity or what the origins of it are. Probably as expected, the more the technology advances, the more the manipulation from the television is taking place. This is done by: changing how people think, making their brain numb by not allowing them to have an opinion and interfering in their family life and in people decision-making process. The only way to save ouselves from living under the control of the television is simply
In conclusion, the reality television impacts the world in a negative way. Reality television influences the culture by giving the young girls ' false expectations, stereotypes, and racism. Reality television has the power to influence people, so if they start using their power in the correct way then every problem connecting to the world of technology would be
Media affect teenagers the most because they spend a lot of time exploring things on it and this could harm them in a negative way. For example: when teenagers watch romantic movies, they could act differently to their love life because they got influenced by the things that they watched. Teenagers could change their behavior due to the things they watch on TV shows, movies, and videos. The young people of today appear to be excessively fascinated in viewing their most loved shows on TV or utilizing web-based social networking
1. Introduction Today television plays a big role in many people’s life, especially for children. It is hard to imagine a world without television. Thanks to the development of technology, television is invented, and considered as a great medium that provokes imagination, encourages education, and entertains the children around the world. Television can also be a beefy influence in developing value systems and shaping behavior (Bee, 1998).
